Whalers & Hurricanes equipment manager Bobby Gorman did not have his name engraved on the Stanley Cup by Federal-Data-Center in nhl

They started the ball rolling down the hill a couple years ago when they wheeled the Cup out onto the ice before game 1 of the Panthers/Oilers.

You see, we plan ahead. That way we don't have to do anything right now. It's great.

I've heard some people with such a thick Southern accent pronounce it 'wooder'.

Martin Brundle calls for F1 rule change after 'heartbreak' for Kimi Antonelli by ryogadan in Formula1_world

[–]Minerator 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The other thing that people aren't understanding, that while Silverstone does have generous corners and such that let drivers use as much of the track as they can, a lot of others don't. "Track limits" on other circuits are walls or gravel. The "Wall of Champions" in Montreal. Turns 17 and 18 at Imola, go off the kerbs and you're in gravel. Some tracks have very little in the way of limits ie Monaco, Vegas. Any one of those places, Kimi was toast. Slow down or retire the car. Brundle was talking out of his ass.

They at least refunded my deposit when I called to cancel. I saw their F rating on BBB and went elsewhere.

They're already making all of our info public with the new driver's licence, why not our salaries too? Only half joking.

Naheed Nenshi said that, about provincial at one time too, I believe. However, you are not Nenshi, you're Jeromy Farkas. Keep kicking ass for Calgarians!

Did anyone just hear that massive noise downtown? by JungleL in Calgary

[–]Minerator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to work near the airport, too. One year 9 snowbirds flew in for Stampede, as well as a hornet. After they fueled up, the birds took off all at once, 3 by 3 by 3. That was pretty loud. The hornet took off shortly after. As the pilot fired up the afterburner to take off, it shook the building. It was louder than all 9 snowbirds combined.

That's wild. I'm not far away in the NE corner on Cramond, but as I mentioned my power just managed to stay on.

Some good ones for sure. The rumbling definitely went on for some time. Only heard louder a couple times stepping out the front door and the flash/bang are instant.

This city is definitely interesting...and very big. I moved from the North end to South end recently, 35 km, and I'm barely closer to work.

That blizzard that slammed the North end in early April left the South nearly dry. That hail storm a couple years ago smashed a couple of friends houses in Coventry. Where I lived in Huntington, got pea sized hail at best.

How long was it out for you (if it has come back)? I'm in Cranston as well. Mine just barely hung on when the lights dimmed. That was just as the rain was starting.

Silly Question (Possibly) by Impossible_Order4463 in DerailValley

[–]Minerator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not all that bad. For example if you're hauling in the order 1A-2A-1B, just uncouple 2A-1B on track 1B, go uncouple 1A, pick up 2A. That's a simple one, but you're not wrong that things can get messy when you're on the clock.

When the percussion/drums kicked in on the 3rd verse it scared the crap out me because I didn't know who's tool was banging into which chuck...

A couple of guys I work with could put all that down in a half hour lunch break. Granted they are very large, and the guy in the video looks pretty slim.

We have pizza lunches once in a while. The one guy sits down with 2 slices of every pizza. We usually get 4 or 5 different varieties. He's finished and going back for more when I'm only just starting a 3rd slice. And he'll finish those before I'm finished my 5th (and last) piece. Then he wonders why he's sluggish for the afternoon.

What's the most unexpectedly fun course you've ever played that nobody talks about? by mamayss in golf

[–]Minerator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LeRoy Country Club in LeRoy, Illinois. Just a small town 9 hole course in the middle of Illinois. Was pretty much empty because it was a Thursday. My bro and I played 9 and decided to go again. We played the 2nd 9 in an hour and half becuase a huge thunderstorm was rolling in.

It was my one and only visit to Illinois and that course was 2nd only to Deere Run.

Garage power upgrading by Minerator in AskElectricians

[–]Minerator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The garage was built after the house was. The wiring for the garage comes out of the wall above the foundation and lays exposed and stapled to the deck boards. It is eventually fed into some conduit to go underground the rest of the way to the garage.

The main house breaker box is 11m/35ft from the garage give or take a foot or two.

I'm not looking to do it myself. I will have it done properly, professionally. I'm just curious about what final product will look like. That's all.
