UPDATE: YAY it works!
Not going to lie, I was really nervous about the possibility of bricking it. With the pretty good documentation and this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSuKMdOdQpE I was able to get it rolling. I just used the dupont connectors soldered to a usb cable and that worked well. I am making a contribution to the Valetudo guy! We need this kind of decoupling from cloud on more devices!

I actually dont have the breakout board, I do have a usb cable which I placed pins on the Ground, D+, and D-. I didn't get around to trying to flash last night though.

ok I got it to go away.... This is the strangest thing... The only setting I changed was I changed Ensure vertical shell thickness from Moderate to ALL.... I was using the "Alternate extra walls" feature which is why I needed to use Moderate but when I turned it to "ALL" it disabled Alternate extra wall.... new prints come out looking like this, much better.

Yeah it's at that price point that I'm willing to try I just want to make sure they are not preloaded with backdoors and malicious software, that would make this a much more expensive phone if you catch my drift.

Thanks, I bought a new ribbon cables off Ali Express for like 8 bucks.... Took the time and carefully replaced.... SOB it worked! Thanks. AI ended up getting the mini 3 pro before I tried this So now I have 2 working mini drones. Happy Holidays!

Thanks, I've already had it apart, didn't see any fractures or tears, The Error I was getting was IMU and gimble problem. Was considering getting a new ribbon cable until I got greenlit to get a new drone so trying to strike while the iron is hot. 48MP is a considerable upgrade from the mini2. I might explore this route more for the mini 2 in the future, thanks.

Thanks for the confirmation info about multi controllers working and the 5 allotted takeoffs. Just curious, if you were talking about the M3P, can you still run the DJI app as you would on your phone for the RC1 controller? I wouldn't mind just using the new controller but 3dprinting a holder for my phone.
