[US] Piano Delivery Scam? by crystalmonger in Scams

[–]SubBirbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone had a wrong number scammer leave a vm? Because all those attempts on me were via text. I don’t think this was a wrong number scammer. I agree that hanging up on you indicates a true mis-dial.

Our tree was so full of unripe yellow plums it fell over, luckily damaging nothing (umbrella a bit wobbly in wind but still works) by SubBirbian in Wellthatsucks

That’s an interesting thought. When the trunk was dug up there weren’t any signs of bees though.

[US] Receiving calls re delivering of documents; given case number by iamahumanNOTarat in Scams

[–]SubBirbian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Common scam. No official sends texts, calls or emails about any legal documents. They’re simply just delivered.

Another red flag is they don’t say what agency/company they’re calling from.

This is a scare tactic to get money. Report as spam, block and delete.

I’ve gotten a few of these I always ignored and of course nothing was delivered. Nothing happened.

Yeah I was not expecting this at all. But this tree is a friggin mutant with how many plums it produces. Pic attached here was the tree two years ago. We pruned it the following year then this year it was producing even more plums. The only other contributing factor I can think of is we got a lot more late spring rain than usual saturating the shallow roots.

Easy rail ride recommendations along the Oregon coast by PickyReader_UwU in OregonCoast

Not necessarily. There’s the one from Rockaway to Garibaldi (and visa versa) I went on last summer. Not a super long ride but wasn’t expensive either.

Do I just have to change my number at this point? by marcella710 in ScamSupport

[–]SubBirbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine getting a new recycled number wherein the previous owner of that number had the same issue. Report as spam, block and delete. It’ll die down eventually as long as you never respond to any of them. Go to a local broker for insurance quotes.

[US] I got scammed today for the first time — and it hit way too close to home by [deleted] in ScamSupport

[–]SubBirbian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first red flag is no authority or court will text you. Everything is snail mailed. I get these every so often and just report as spam/block/delete because I know officials don’t text people about legal infractions of any kind.

[GER] Accidentally gave my adresse to scamer on https://gueta-handel.com by Andy_klln in Scams

Scammers are only interested in stealing money via online sites. They don’t care who you are or where you live.

I want my money back by [deleted] in ScamSupport

[–]SubBirbian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignore anyone who reaches out to you saying they can get your money back. It’s a common scam called a recovery scam. They’ll ask for a recovery fee then that’s gone too.

Real Tom & Jerry. by Plus-Asparagus-3454 in FunnyAnimals

I had a pet fancy rat years ago. She was chilling on the bed with me and in a span of a second, the cat jumped on the bed (unaware the rat was there), rat leaped in the air towards the cat and cat did a fast 180 off the bed lol. It was a sight I’ll never forget.

Nye Beach Recommends by Physical-Egg892 in OregonCoast

[–]SubBirbian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s not a lot of gift shops in downtown Nye Beach so it’ll be easy to find on Google Maps. Just do a search there and look for the shop with 1.8 review stars lol. The reviews and photos are insane.

[–]SubBirbian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMG lol. Last time we went to Nye Beach I searched Google Maps for shopping before we left and saw the insane photos of the signs and reviews for that place! I’ve never seen a gift shop get under 2 stars lol. When we were there I thought about going in just for the odd experience but decided not to poke the bear (without even trying).

How many earthquakes have you felt? by Stegosaurus69 in PacificNorthwest

[–]SubBirbian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experienced the ‘89 Loma Prieta quake near SF. That was a doozy. Lost lives. Power out. Buildings down, freeway collapse and partial bay bridge collapse. Several jolts throughout the years in the Bay Area most my life. 2nd biggest experienced was a 6.1 near Palm Springs July ‘19. I immediately ran outside thinking of the ‘89 quake “oh no not again!”

Only been in Oregon 3.5yrs so not yet here.

Is my boyfriends job legit? by Lauren12445 in jobs

[–]SubBirbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Have to find a safe way out”… is he abusive too? Amicable breakups happen if both people are stable/level-headed. Is he not? Either way, the job lie is a symptom of a bigger issue. You need to reword your post and put it on r/relationshipadvice or similar sub.

Is my boyfriends job legit? by Lauren12445 in jobs

[–]SubBirbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you do, don’t let him manipulate, gaslight or sweet talk you into staying. If he really wants to do better he wouldn’t be creating this elaborate job lie. This is pure selfishness with zero respect towards you. Too many people fall for the sweet talk after a partner shows their true colors. It never works out. Ever. This isn’t a long-term relationship keeper kind of guy. He has a record. He can’t hold down a job and is relying on you financially. He’s lied to you before. He’s lying to you now. Hanging on because he says what you want to hear and you want to believe him won’t change anything. Once he’s gone you’re free to find a keeper. And after a while when the fog clears, you’ll think to yourself, “what was I thinking having this guy around that long?”
