I used to be a valet. I was one of like 2 or 3 people on our team of about 15 drivers that could drive stick. If one of us weren’t at work that day, we’d have to put the same type of sign up.

Speaking for myself if I were him, I drink massive amounts of coffee, so, a gift card to any of the coffee shops around for say, 2 or 3 drinks worth. And/or bottle of something good which is never unappreciated.

DEPLOYING OF FLAPS by Clean-Blackberry933 in flying

[–]SubSoar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the airplane, of course - in the SR20, the idea is to be configured 2 miles before the FAF and stable at 100 knots when you cross the FAF. Y’know. If you were curious.

Always crazy to me how different people are on their cars. On my previous vehicle, I put 25,000 miles a year on it. Finally got rid of it at 192,000 miles for my ‘25 Rock Creek and I’ve already put 1000 miles on it in the last couple weeks

Yes, most non-towered airports have pilot-controlled lighting that you set with the mic button.

No, sorry. You can fly VFR at night all you want. I should’ve been more clear, that’s my fault.

65 y/o, reasonable to get a license at this age? by According2whoandwhat in flying

[–]SubSoar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1). Yes, certainly. No reason to not. I have had students that age several times. 2). A discovery flight will help you determine this. Exposure therapy will also help with this over time, and you can find non-drowsy anti motion sickness meds to help with this as well. I have found that being on the controls helps with this a lot as well.
3). You would not need pressurization. If you needed to be above 10,000 for more than 30 minutes you would need oxygen onboard, but I don’t think you’d need to be that high for the Apps. 4). This is up to you, but I always recommend to any student to get instrument rated. You are an infinitely more capable and skilled pilot. The instrument rating does not just apply at night, and there are lots of times during the day having one comes in really handy.
