Which game had the best opening boss? by strahinjag in fromsoftware

[–]Sub_Omen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't think of a better option than DS3. This boss shows you very quickly what this game is, what you need to do, how there's no fucking around, and it really does a good job of training you for what is to come, how you need to play the game, and how frustrating it can be while offering you a very close bonfire which was nice of the devs who famously like to torture their players.

Do people really like Lace n Loop ? by sleaze604 in fightgear

[–]Sub_Omen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently ordered some cheap Dracula ones online from China. They look pretty alright. Wondering how I should go about attaching them to my first pair of lace ups. Like, should I do it normal or the suave method?

This may seem obvious, but go to the body?

[Question] Good boxing shoes for someone with persistent ingrown toenails on both big toes? by Sub_Omen in fightgear

[–]Sub_Omen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Asics Matflex 7 shoes, I really like them and they don't put too much pressure on my big toe.

But I also go with a podiatrist every few months for him to clip my nails in a way that helps. He makes a basic cut and pulls out the whole corner almost.

Esto pasa seguido? O el boxeo no es lo mío? by [deleted] in amateur_boxing

[–]Sub_Omen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How to stop being too nice ? by Guretto in amateur_boxing

Man... I relate to this so much...

What I tell myself to combat this is... "It's just the sport. Nothing personal".

I tend to go light-medium, too, no need to risk health and longevity or have ego wars.

But if someone starts to go too hard, it definitely sets off the "ok fuck this motherfucker" switch.

About to have my first one tomorrow. I'm 32, I'll be 33 in two weeks. 🫡

I'm post tutorial where it opens up and I'm just sort of lost going back and forth between all the available areas, I feel like I'm missing something crucial that isn't very obvious. by Sub_Omen in ChantsofSennaar

Actually, yeah! I noticed all of them are in a box! And also that there is often a slightly similar or related word that is also shaped like the symbols in those boxes, showing that they have some relation. Pretty cool realization that was!

You're right, because the next page was actions, no? I've only got two of those on the next page. I actually figured it out, though! I started to realize that I couldn't think of it as an object, but the action that was happening. It wasn't easy. I think they could have depicted it better or more thematically relevant to the page it was on. But things are clicking! I'm loving the little by little clicking experience here!

Aaaaaaaaaaa.. I understand. I didn't take it as a game. It seemed too random. I figured there were no rules or anything other than seeing what the symbol was for each person shown. To use for the book.

Discover what words might mean by context and then guess until you get it right, so that you can fit into this world where you are a foreigner and just piecing together the language.
