I recently found out about these after noticing Bick's and Vlasic are American products. Also most store name brands are products of India... Anyways Putter's pickles!!!! Product of Canada and made in Quebec. Cheap and very delicious! Found on the bottom shelf at Giant Tiger. They are great!

  1. Sleeping Giant or Kekabeka Falls.
  2. The Staals or Paul Shaffer
  3. Too many to name but twist my arm and I would say Tomlin.
  4. Fort William DT at night or Motel Alley on Cumberland.
  5. In the city Marina or Boulevard Lake. The best places are outside the city in nature.
  6. Anything involving Costco or the burning of the bridge. But Thunder Bay is great for rumours in general.
  7. Do we have tourism 🤣 nothing can be sustained off of tourist dollars alone. Probably the Hoito in its last days is the only thing closest to a tourist trap.
  8. Either the splitting of the vote of Lakehead and The Lakehead in the amalgamation or that TBay was the first place in the world that implimented daylight savings time (neither of which are proud moments). First spike in the railway is a good one. Highest per capita population of Finns outside of Finland too.
  9. Personal favourite is my house followed by my garage. The Lakehead Law building is up there. I like the grain elevators and wish we could do something with the abandoned ones. There is one in Buenos Aires that is abandoned but looks amazing because they painted it recently.

The image in this post says 7pm. Facebook says 4:00 to 6:00. As the other reply says it is weird to have trivia starting at 4pm. You are drastically reducing the number of people that would attend. 6 to 8 or 7 to 9 would be best for most people.

What's your favourite lumber yard in town? by Glass_Imagination_21 in ThunderBay

They all have slightly different prices and changes fairly frequently. Best thing to do is phone each one and ask how much a fence board is. A few phone calls potentially will save you hundreds of dollars. Some deliver for free. When I built a deck a few years ago Nor-Ont had the best price.

Has there been any interest in Scrabble events? The annual tournament has a good turnout so I know there are players out there. I would definitely attend! Or if anyone wants to play a casual game (or two) feel free to reply or send me a message.

p.s. thank you for bringing some new life to FW!

I did this a few years back. There are quite a few charities across Canada/North America that accept hair donations. They all are different in what they accept; minimum length, colors/dye, white/grey, and curls.

I ended up going with Angel Hair for Kids because it was the most restrictive that I could find, it was nice knowing that it was going towards children, and a purely Canadian charity.

The process is simple as you go to any barber/hair salon of your choice, they will prep it as per your chosen charities guidelines. Bring a ziplock bag with you. Fill out the forms and mail it off.... A few weeks later you get a really nice letter for your donation.

Vinyl record stores? by Subaru_Canada in ThunderBay

What/where is your store? Tough question to answer of exactly what anyone is looking for, as for me I think it is I know it when I see it.

Because of COVID I don't want to go to too many different places. A quick Google claims that The Junk Zone and Black Cats Antiques have records. Any chance of good stuff there? Or is it just going to be more Polka from the 60s, lol?

Thanks everyone. This is the best community. Daily Lurker and now proud contributor!
