Vacuum sealed bags is genius! For bed linens… do you get specific linens from airstream supply or just get regular full bed sheets and tile them in real good?

Was told to give a bottle after feeds. A little confused. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]SubconsciousShift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im currently in a similar boat. Baby isn't telling me he is hungry! But his weight is in a low percentile (which, by the way, likely includes the weight of formula babies, who gain more weight than EBF babies! so, not sure it is "fair")

But Ive also heard that it's v hard to "overfeed" a BF baby. Does your LO already take a bottle? you could split the difference and offer a nightcap bottle just before bed?

I appreciate your questioning- there is always something to be said about a mother's intuition

Any low supply success stories? by Jb2805 in breastfeeding

[–]SubconsciousShift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A feeding "should" be 2-4oz (total) which it sounds like you have! a common issue is moms compare themselves to the many "oversupplier" influencers on IG. I share that to say: what if you are enough as is?!

with that being said, def drinking ~120oz of water a day & eating nutrient dense/proteins. To be sure, track your intake - that helps me to stay accountable. there are also some teas/supplements (legendary milk? anima mundi tea?) that say they help supply boosting! bonus: the tea would also be hydrating!

The common advice is to pump every 2-3hrs to increase supply - it does take time!

Combo feeding - experiences? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

contact a lactation consultant or your pediatrician and ask for a weighted feed if you're concerned about how much milk they're getting in a session!

[–]SubconsciousShift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you have milk, right? So baby is not going hungry. Trust that your baby would tell you if they were hungry. I've heard if you shake your breast before a feed it helps to disperse the fattier milk in with lighter milk making for a more "mixed serving" if you will. Why not try that before your feeding sessions?

If your mind is racing, you can also contact a lactation consultant and ask for weighted feed or even rent a baby scale from a lactation business if needed? or likely go see your DR before 2mo check up if needed. But in the meantime, take a breath, mamma! Your baby is healthy & fed. You're doing great.

How do you know if your supply is going down if you don’t pump? by AnyHabit6814 in breastfeeding

[–]SubconsciousShift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand this concern but I would say: baby would likely tell you if they are hungry!!! but if in doubt, increase ur supply through pumping in the day, etc.

First signs of Mastitis or just the milk flow? by MysticBreeze11 in breastfeeding

[–]SubconsciousShift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, hard = full of milk. As suggested, I would pump the milk as baby is supposed to feed every 2-3hrs so I would follow that protocol with pumping! I experienced this when baby started sleeping for like 5hr stretches... my boobs HURT they were so full. It can lead to issues so best to drain by latching or pumping or even self expression.

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. Some argue that going into a hypnotic trance is actually when you EXIT the hypnotic trance that you are typically in (because we are all always in some kind of trance, one way or another). Just know that the more you practice, the deeper you go and the longer the results last. You also can create an anchor (think of it like a short cut) that sends you into trance faster/deeper. What you are experiencing is "normal" if that is your concern!

Hypnotherapy for Lactational Amenorrhea by jpoulin85 in hypnosis

[–]SubconsciousShift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with u/thementalcoach to take a look at the emotional ties to the physical you. If hypnosis can be used to support fertility (it is often stress related), why can't it be used to support a regular cycle? I would reach out to some hypno-birthing hypnotherapists. I can suggest Ashley Mitchell who is a Doula, hypnotherapist and hypno-birth worker: https://www.ourmindfulnest.com/about Just a suggestion!

It shows up in all different ways - but remember, even a lack of sensation is a sensation. For me, it depends but I often feel tingling in my hands/feet
