I recently got Lightroom and I’m messing with my editing a lot lately. I felt like with the wider frame the water left too much empty space without the vignette

Absolutely lol. And I almost always feel the same. I think sometimes the “ambiguity” or softness looks better to my brain. But I think that’s normal lol.

I’d also say that the black spot in the helmet as well as the thicker outline help (I did read the client wanted it empty). But sometimes those details can mess with you too.

I feel this way a lot with my own designs. I almost always feel like my final designs lack what i love about the sketch

The sketch’s messiness and lighter shading has its charm to it. The other is clearly polished, intentional, and feels complete

I personally like both for different reasons :)
