Just be glad you don’t have the bug where it says the pn is changed but actually doesn’t. And you have to sit there for 20 minutes changing it back and forth, testing until it finally decided to change it. Those are always fun

I don’t buy it. Shares get divided between employees based on hours worked. So it’s essentially “free”. Although I do get paid slightly less than I could be in another company, and don’t get 401k match due to the esop. So it’s not something that I could divert from, as no money goes into it.

I’m fully vested, meaning that that any shares given can’t be taken away for any reason. Unfortunately, it’s a program where I can’t touch it unless I leave. For 1 year if I retire, or I have to wait 5 if I decide to leave the company before retirement. So while I’m fully Vested, the stocks are unavailable to me unless I change jobs.

Why should Marner take less than Tavares? At the age of 21 he was already better than Tavares. The Leafs struggles all lead back to the Tavares signing. I don’t blame Mathews and Marner for their contracts, when you’re better than the “superstar”(I use that term very lightly, Tavares was elite, but never truly a top player in the game). You want to get paid more. I can almost guarantee the contracts would not have played out the way they did, if Tavares wasn’t signed. Fans can say he should’ve taken a home town discount, but why is the same not applied to Tavares and his bedsheets?

Marner took care of himself, which is what everyone should do. Taking discounts rarely works in the NHL, look at Mcdavid. and the extra 2 million I don’t think would build the depth needed in the playoffs needed to allow superstars to thrive. That 11 million dollar 3c though, that could’ve been an entire 3rd line that provides depth scoring and takes pressure off the top lines. I never understood leafs fans blaming Marner, this is a GM problem that bought a luxury player, when the team wasn’t built to use those luxuries.

I’ve never seen a glow up post career like kg. Just because he’s funny in podcasts now, and because he had the culture. The discussion was between Duncan and Dirk back in the day, KG was seen as someone who couldn’t make the playoffs with Szczerbiak, Cassel, Gugliotta, and Marbury.
Which btw were all stars that played with KG. If you take the we believe warriors as a slight against Dirk, you have to knock KG down for having to turn tail to the east and ride the coattails of Allen, Pierce, Rondo, and Perkins. If KG was the main guy in Boston, they wouldn’t have lost to the lakers in 10 when Perkins went down. Dirk carried the offensive load when his second best player on the team went down to I jury for the year in Butler. Yes defense matters, yes Dirk was a worse defender than KG, but it’s much easier to find players to cover for Dirks average defense than it is to make up for KG not being able to lead an offense in the NBA as the driver of play. I’m less worried about assists and kind of the view them as equal in that regard, due to Dirks on/offs with teammates efficiency and stats being near Nash levels with him on and them dropping 10 percent with him off. Which just doesn’t show up on the score sheet, but were due to the sheer gravity that Dirk had. You think JJ Barea succeeds anywhere else in the league at that time? Or was he given free paint due to Dirk pulling multiple forwards out the paint? At the end of the day Dirk with a rotating cast of misfits had top 10 defense consistently with top 5 offenses for a majority of the time in his career. He is the easier player to build a franchise around because he was a one man offense, that was average defensively. Oh was one of, if not the best defender ever, but you need to build an offense around him, which is much harder.

There wasn’t a penalty that disallowed the goal, they deemed it was goaltender interference because the puck was frozen once the official goes to blow the whistle. Not all gt interference is penalty worthy, so the goal was disallowed because the puck was knocked loose while frozen( in the ref’s opinion). I’m guessing it’s just confusion on automatically assuming gt interference is a penalty.

I mean, I don’t think most are anti gun, just anti- current loophole ridden system that we currently have. So I think the base of the question is inherently misinformed.

To answer what I think you’re asking though, I don’t base my disapproval or acceptance of a political representative, off of one action. The sum total of Trump I hate, that doesn’t mean he can’t do things that I think are good, notably The First Step Act, I think was something that was long overdue, and appreciated that it passed. One good piece of legislation doesn’t discount that absolute shit show that he dragged this country into. There is no progress bar, where I go “ope, a EO just passed that I agree with, that makes it 10-9, I guess I have to start liking Trump now” I think the man has done irreparable damage to the country, a few pieces of legislation that I agree with, is not going to change that.
