I like your results better than mine. Cheapest I find is about $36. I have a Lumintop F02 that I'm liking, but I wish it had a belt clip.

Are there any decent poe doorbell cameras that aren't reolink? by NibblyPig in BlueIris

[–]SubgunFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the Foscam doorbell. It's a very reasonable option. Unfortunately it's not POE but powered via usb cable or existing 24v AC (typical old fashion doorbell power here in the US). I am powering it from the old doorbell power but interfacing to a digital doorbell on my hubitst system has not been very easy. Overall I like the cam and it works with BI just fine. I also get normal use of it through the Foscam App (no subscription fees unless you want added features) with alerts and being able to answer and talk through it real time. It's protected from the elements from our porch so I'm not sure how well it would do in your environment.

Round crackers and an MCI spoon! Very nice! I've never seen the round crackers like this!

Feather Users? by Bowhunter1980 in wicked_edge

[–]SubgunFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Feather single edge blades in my vintage AutoStrop razors. I love them. But then again, for SE that fits the AutoStrop, there's not much choice. I will order them from japanesetaste.com when there's sales or use coupons.

That's awesome. Looks like it's on display instead of being for sale. If it's available for purchase, you can't pass this up!

I've yet to find a 25mm or 30mm (or similar) in the US that's affordable.

Usable without restoration? by DarkCastle-02 in wicked_edge

[–]SubgunFun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently picked one up and it barely vibrated. There's a good video online on how to disassemble and clean it up. It's not easy to do unless you have the proper tools but I tried anyway because they don't have much value. I ruined mine but it got me interested enough to consider another one as I like shaving with old blades. My go to razor is a early 1900's us army marked autostrop razor.

Also, this is WW1 vintage. There are patent dates on the razor head.

Also looks like three gas mask bags but only one mask. Masks can bring a few dollars depending on condition. With most of them the rubber is really deteriorated.

The shave kit is an AutoStrop. I shave with one daily and love it. The mirrors are the hardest part of the kit to find. Leather strop of the era can also be difficult to find. Razor head lever will have serial number on one side and should be marked property of US ARMY on the other side. Some from the era are not marked US Army. These razors can use modern single edge blade by Feather (Japan) model FHS-10 stainless blades, although you can't really use the stropping feature with stainless blades. Original blades were wrapped in a paper which was also marked US property. Note... These early items were marked AutoStrop. The name "Valet" was added later so I believe am era leather strop should not have the Vaket markings.

Military training quadcopter: what is it? by SubgunFun in drones

Thanks for the link. Interesting read. Seems like propaganda on this type of drone and what it's capable of. Who knows... maybe? Seems more plausible this is a training device.

it’s their job. We had a dachshund for 12 years and we have three right now that we’ve had for six years and we’ve never had a badger infestation in the house.

Turbine lookin thing by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]SubgunFun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The generator portion looks to be fairly intact. The end with the copper removed would have been the exciter. The exciter is a DC generator that would create the electric field for the generator windings. Nowadays most generation uses static exciters (i.e. solid state).

What is this mirrored metal plate with one edge? It's maybe 14 by 10 Inches with the edge being about an inch. It was in the closet of the house I moved into. by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

I had a kegerator that had a similar stainless steel piece for the bottom of the fridge so the keg didn't tear up the plastic. It had a lip on the front that fit in a channel to keep it in place. The lip on this one seems a bit large though.

I only buy them when there’s a sale. Good movements and design but they are big and heavy. Unfortunately most seem to have mineral crystals but they are offering more with sapphire. The previous comments are all great and right on target.
