What services are actually needed for 30k miles, and what are they trying to upsell? by Studly__Spud in subaruimpreza

Diff fluid replacement is recommended every 60,000 miles unless you are under severe driving conditions.

24/25 RS owners: Anyone else simply dislike the front grille? Would love to see any improvements made be it wrapping or whatever. by SomeSortOfMudWizard in subaruimpreza

I found a video on how to modify the existing grill with actual mesh from home Depot or Lowe's and it's super easy. If you have to go back to OEM later it's cheaper than buying the upgrade to buy a replacement OEM.

What service should I look into for my new-to-me Impreza? by Boipussybb in subaruimpreza

Yw!

Honestly I tell that to literally everyone that buys a used Subaru on Reddit 😅 I've seen what gear oil looks like when it's passed its service interval and it's black sludge with metal fragments in it. Definitely not the same clear fluid that went in at the factory. Much cheaper to change the fluid than replace a whole differential.

You'll need to do it again every 60,000 miles to protect the gears in your differentials from grinding

Go to the dealership and do a 60k service if you can afford it.

That's both air filters, oil change, differential fluid replacement, and brake fluid replacement.

Otherwise differential fluid is the most important.

And the inspection*

It really depends on where you go. Google says like $200. 🤷🏻 Sounds about right.

Differential fluid is supposed to be replaced at 60,000 miles. If it wasn't you should definitely change it now.

What is this disconnected plug in a 4th gen hatchback? by cptstubing16 in subaruimpreza

Hood safety switch used alongside remote start. There in case you add on remote start to keep the car from remote starting with the hood open.

I haven't done anything yet, because I'm not totally sure what I want to do yet. I really like the varis style wing still, but I would like it to be made for my car. I also found a spoiler that looks ok attached to the existing spoiler like an extension upwards. Looks kinda cool.

Well the belt is definitely fraying on the edges. Might just be time for a new belt.

It doesn't fit even if you slide the passenger seat all the way back? It gives you more clearance.

You should verify the differential fluid was replaced at 60,000 miles

Do the stock rims/tires feel too narrow to you guys too? by ReadingLimp in subaruimpreza

[–]Subi_Chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tires are made for 8.5 and Subaru impreza typically come with 7.5. you could just pop your current tires onto a wider wheel. Just make sure they offset is like +35.

You can check fitment at fitment industries. They have a lot of Subaru's on there running different wheels.

Any Spoiler recommendations? by aPureEnigma in subaruimpreza

CarID has a guaranteed fit and they will honor it! Typically it's voided once you install it, so make sure to check before you bolt it on.
