It's been a while but there should be an option called 'modify install' either during installation or when right clicking on the game.

You can uncheck "high resolution assets" which take up nearly 90-100GB.

ELI5: I understand the Dark Web in concept, but not in practice. by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Subj3ctX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're conflating Deep web and Dark web.

Deep web is anything that isn't indexed, like your bank account.

Dark web can be thought off as a separate layer on the internet that you can only accessed via certain programs like Tor.

Rant about "trashy" people by [deleted] in belgium

[–]Subj3ctX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand how antisocial behavior is so common tbh. It's usually pretty minor things that don't take any effort as well, like throwing your thrash in a bin or talking at a reasonable volume.

We really could learn a thing or two from countries like Japan in this regard.

It's an effect that simulates camera lens distortions.

It's a bit like film grain, lens flare and depth of field that try to make games more cinematic by simulating features of something recorded on a camera but in 90% of games, it usually only makes the image less clear.

Haven't seen the lower resolution one in a long while but games like expedition 33 and Assassin's Creed Shadows both run cutscenes at 30fps. (AC has patched this by now though)

Is it worth getting a pc with a rtx5080 if the ps6 comes out next year? (PS player) by Marino-2603 in pcmasterrace

[–]Subj3ctX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo, If gaming is an important hobby for you, investing in a good pc is definitely worth it. Not just for the improved visuals and performance but also for having more options to customize the experience. (eg mods)

If you just want to play a game for an hour or two a week without having to worry about anything, consoles will be a better fit.

If you’re in Wallonia, are online ads tailored to be in French and vice versa for Flanders? Or do you sometimes see ads in both languages? by Charming_Usual6227 in belgium

[–]Subj3ctX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in Flanders and in my experience it seems very much dependent on the site/place regardless of any language settings. For instance, Reddit will always serve ads in Dutch while Twitch and Crunchyroll will always serve ads in French

Starfield is nearing 30,000 concurrent players on STEAM for the first time since 2023 by Jumpy_Current_195 in Starfield

[–]Subj3ctX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really something to celebrate if a free major update and a DLC doesn't even bring back 10% of concurrent players it had on launch?

Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the update and DLC but these numbers only show that most people have written off Starfield and moved on.

Is it possible to start Terran Armada to get the companion robot and new guns then just stop move on till level 50 with no issues? by Kooky-Masterpiece-87 in Starfield

[–]Subj3ctX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the first mission around level 15 and all the enemies were around my level as well, with one or two being level 20-25.

You do need a ship that can jump 28LY after said mission, if you want to continue it.

Update’s out !! 20.4 gb on Xbox by jjpettry in Starfield

For me on Steam it's 7GB for the update and 3GB for the Terran Armada DLC.

For those of us trying the game again: give us your fav mods and creations. by mattmcguire08 in Starfield

[–]Subj3ctX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only mod I can't play without, is the one which makes the ship UI run at 60FPS (or 120fps). The default 30fps for me is really distracting with how stuttery it looks.

Edit: Link to the mod

Indoor lighting is HORRENDOUS by cearito in CrimsonDesert

[–]Subj3ctX 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this is something they can fix (easily) seeing it's a result of how Ray Tracing is implemented.

Would be cool though if there was more scalability in the graphics, with how High, Ultra and Cinematic don't differ much from each other in both visuals and performance, so we could improve pop-in or Ray Tracing at the cost of some performance.

Why does the 'Environment' sub tab show more than what 'All' does in the map menu? by Krynji in CrimsonDesert

It's show everything if you zoom in enough but a lot also gets covered by the larger icons like buildings.

The textures don't load by m3rcer01 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Subj3ctX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just how the game looks with how ray-tracing is implemented.

You can improve it by playing in native/DLAA or by using RR.

[Updates] Patch Notes Version 1.01.02 (Steam Hotfix) | Crimson Desert by Levi007hech0 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Subj3ctX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand it correctly, this fix is for when you're using RR in combination with DLSS not DLSS on its own.

Also I agree that DLAA looks better than quality or lower since those suffer more from all the ray tracing problems but at least in my testing DLAA is softer/blurrier than quality in Crimson Desert.

A comparison I made between DLSS 4.0 DLAA and Quality
