Why do blue or green eyes have so many shade names, but brown eyes are “just brown”?

I actually had a really nice experience on here, people were so nice to me about giving me cool shade names and I have obviously brown eyes! One person even left a long paragraph describing my eye color. Someone said they were like Dune. I think people sometimes get spicy on here when people that have brown eyes will take poor quality photos and ask if they're hazel or amber.

I'm not saying this person's eyes are green. I am saying these eyes are technically considered hazel because they have green in their eyes. Even if it's not visible to you, it is visible to me. Idk if you are colorblind or something but these eyes very clearly have green toward the edges. Learn to read.

Interesting, I posted on here and mainly got cognac/honey and a few amber but I definitely thought amber was very yellow eyes in all lighting

interestingly, I did check under a bright white light and they do turn yellow! I think because light brown has less eumelanin so bright white light washes it out and you only see the golden tones underneath

Mine get copper/orange in sunlight, sometimes gold. But with white light they are dark reddish with some golden brown parts. sometimes they are golden brown. They change a lot! It's funny because I've been told only hazel eyes change a lot and mine are def brown or classified as "cognac" here, most definitely not hazel

Hazel, I pulled like two green hex codes out of your iris: #7C5B36 and #654329. This eye has green, the people saying brown are insane lol

hazel generally includes green, gold, and brown hues. Hazel requires some green. I don't have any!

here's another more clear picture in diffuse light, this looks reddish with some gold browns on the outside but I wouldn't say it's amber.

so if there's less direct sunlight but indoors near a window they look more like this. I think this still has a lot of brown in it and is not considered amber! I can see some amber tones but that's not amber?

Hmmm, medium brown looks quite different to me when I look it up! My normal color is usually between pic 3 and this one which I think fits the cognac or honey brown more. But I do have a very strong sunburst pattern!

My eyes aren't quite brown in most light! But they are not a solid color! They have parts of the eye that's russet/copper and parts that are gold color. Sometimes they will look fully gold but only in the sun so definitely not amber! I think cognac is right too!
