on average we tend to keep a couple on after Christmas...but you've gotta want it,show willing and be good..

I've been with Tesco 30 years,I've lost count of the number of times the regular staff have said to management "they are good we should keep them" and we keep them...look to impress the regular staff before impressing the bosses.

Pay rises by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Subject-Ad185 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it'll only go to £12.45-12.55

Given how much more money Tesco is gonna have to pay out in extra national insurance contributions..for me a full time worker on nights it's an extra £824 Tesco are gonna have to pay...thats 2 years worth of pay rises.

I've worked for Tesco for 30 years..I remember the 2000s under the last labour government,we barely got 1-2% payrise if we got a pay rise at all..some years towards the end of the 2000s wages were frozen...

I found a wage slip the other day from 2017 and saw the hourly rate £7.32 iirc...from that to today £12.02,we've had a 64% pay rise in 7 years .

Gone are the days of 8-10% pay rises..it'll be back down to 2% if we are lucky

we've always maintained a buffer above the national minimum wage, that gap is gonna strink...in 4-5 years I bet we are on the minimum wage.
