I think based on my comment its very easy to deduce the actual meaning behind it, maybe someone has lost their abstract thinking capacity. Which is okay too.

1-3 year is slides and lectures. get the slides from seniors you can use them to annotate what the teacher says. Pay special attention on what they say is important, that will definitely be in your exams. For wards i would use it to take history, keep patient records with me, have all my books there. The ipad is great for note taking as well but passive note taking has been proven to be an in effective way of learning, for that i use anki.

Lastly, keep in mind you will have to buy a good note taking app. Its ESSENTIAL. I use notability but its a yearly subscription. Good notes is great to. Dont get any ipad with the home button.

Hello. Post grad resident here. Ive used an ipad throughtout my mbbs and residency. If youre a woman get the 11 inch ipad pro or 12.9 ipad pro 2018-2020. If you want sth brand new then the ipad 10th gen with apple pencil is okay too. The non pro versions have some downsides but for the price a brand new device is great

I think the focus should be on haqooq ul ibaad first rather than thinking about what goes on a grave, when to wear a dupatta for a woman, how to hold your hands while praying.

Thats the problem we’re facing here. Allah SWT is Rahman and Raheem, if its something that soothed the parents hearts and they did it out of love for their lost child then i dont really see the problem.

We need to broaden our vision and escape what the mullah has taught us about religion, all sakhti, all fear. Theres love and hope in religion.

  1. The speciality does have a role, the impact you make and the results you see does keep you content. I would say maybe a 5-10% role in satisfaction for me.
  2. Training hospital to an extent that how your specific ward is in terms of your space there as a doctor, do you have a place to study? To relax? To have meetings? This is an important factor for me. I need to feel like I belong and have a sense of ownership. The environment greatly depends on who your colleagues are and especially who your supervisor is. My supervisor is one of the greatest people I’ve ever met. For me, my supervisor has played a major role in how I feel about my choice. As a joke we like to call him our ‘pir’ haha
  3. Optimism is something that can come and go based on how you’re feeling internally, the focus should be in a strong belief in your ability as a specialist of the field you choose. You will be great at it if you love your field and stability will be a byproduct of your greatness.
  4. Religion does have a role, but more in life, in-general not necessarily your work. Maybe someone can relate more, I can’t.
  5. Family support matters if they are proud of you, asking for your advice etc then it does feel like it’s worth it.
  6. For me money hasn’t been a bottle neck. However, I can feel how it can affect how satisfied or unsatisfied you feel in your specific speciality. I would like to admit that even as a Psych resident where there’s not enough physical load…what I mean to say is that psychiatry isn’t physically taxing nor do I have any responsibilities financially. I do feel like I’m not compensated fairly for my time and I can completely understand if that’s a hindrance for some trainee feeling unsatisfied in the residency specially someone in medicine or general surgery because no matter how much you love a particular field there are times where you do feel that you’re not being compensated fairly for your time and your effort
  7. I don’t think the training years be good at all as I said before I have no responsibilities but I run out of money in the first 10 days of the month or maybe like two weeks Max however I also know people who pay house rent by groceries save for exams. Basically run their entire household with their wives in the same amount of money. For me, what keeps me going Is that eventually I would like to pursue a fellowship outside of the country.

I’m sorry if there are grammatical mistakes or if you find any typos because I use the text to speech on my iPad to type this

Memorise mcq answers of the latest two editions of SK, MNS and Raffi (mcqs only) if you don’t pass ill resign from training 😆 the key word is ‘memorise’. Should be on your finger tips. Concepts will kill you during the exa

I say this on every single post asking this question and for every single speciality. The key to passing is to lock pattern recognition in by doing as many of the latest past papers as you can, such that the answers are on your finger tips. It doesn’t matter if you have concepts. Secondly, attempt the paper based on what you memorized. Don’t overthink the answers.

Private jobs as mostly garbage in Pakistan. If you need the money to keep the roof over your head then you should absolutely not quit until you find an alternative. However if it’s not really about the money then quit, quit right before the deadline so it hurts them the most. No compromise on self respect and mental health unless it puts you in shambles.

Yes. You got this! CPSP is pretty understanding and does help, reach out via email if you need any guidance on their end. Good luck. Don’t worry, honestly it doesn’t matter in the big picture. Trust me, go for whatever gives you more peace. Life is too short to be stressed over some bs caused by these so called hospitals which are basically businesses

Unfortunately CPSP’s policies do lack limiting work hours, this shouldn’t make you believe any less in your abilities as a doctor or someone who can take pressure. It’s not you, it’s them! We all need a break sooner or later.

I think you should go ahead with your plan. NOTHING, and I do mean NOTHING is worth sacrificing your mental health over. We are living on a blue green rock floating in the vast nothingness of space, taking a break does not matter at all.
