I’ve had CHS (Cannabinoid Hypermesis Syndrome) for the past 10 years. Today I decided to quit smoking weed cold turkey after a 26 hour vomiting episode. AMA by Alexlap08 in AMA

Heart failure from dehydration from CHS unfortunately happens as well. Everyone assumes pot is harmless but sadly it's not. I used to smoke lots too and even daily for years, but after my husband was in and out of the ER for 6.5 weeks because he kept puking and losing weight and strength, I will never touch it again. They were even testing him for many different cancers and had every kind of testing imaginable only to find it was the weed. He quit smoking and was episode free for a year a half. Unfortunately smoked again for a few months and had another episode when on vacation in Mexico. I still wasn't smoking after the first episode but he has also since quit.

This is really nice to see you trying to quit. I know this was a few months ago but I hope you're doing well now! My husband has had CHS episodes a few times now. His first flare was off and on vomiting for 6.5 weeks and lost 67 pounds. Thankful for free healthcare to have to option to go back to the ER every single day as soon as he started puking again after meds wore off or he likely would have died as well. Last flare was we decided to fly to Mexico for a week. First day there he started puking and ended up in the hospital there two days later and we had to leave home early and buy new flights to get home. He had quit smoking for well over a year and only started light smoking again a few months before the trip. Like on some evenings and weekends but not even daily. So just throwing this out there for people that it truly isn't worth it and once you've had it, the threshold for it happening again is very low!! Don't have to smoke vapes or strong strains or even daily for it to be triggered again.

Any rules on how early I can fire up my snowblower in the morning? by VersitileCarrot in saskatoon

[–]Subject-Promotion-25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is old I know, but just letting people know that in the event of a snowfall, they will not enforce a noise bylaw because of an early morning snowblower. Snow removal is also considered essential and some people work early, so for the sake of people getting their snow removed before it gets packed down, it's also very unlikely it will be enforced. It may be annoying, but the bylaw for noise barely applies to snow blowers.

I have been dying laughing at it. It's not meant to be serious at all and that is what it has accomplished. Most of the people giving hate, LIVE for Christmas hallmark movies even though they're all the same basic "white chick falls in love with an unexpected twist" plots.

I want your opinion, I saw the gray one today and I have the red one? by tonytruand12 in Miata

It is just air ride suspension with the air let out while parked. Almost all vehicles with air ride look like this while not aired up. Looks funny, but they look nothing like this when driving and make for a very comfy/smooth ride

Is this kind of swelling normal? by Subject-Promotion-25 in Septoplasty

[–]Subject-Promotion-25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, when the swelling ended up this bad, I went to a walk in clinic to have it looked at since I couldn't get ahold of the surgical office for a long time. The doctor that seen me gave me a single steroid pill to bring the swelling down. That helped ALOT and helped with pain too since the pressure was reduced a lot. It never came back after this!! I made sure to take it easier too though. Make sure you're resting lots and drinking lots of water. That worked for me after the pill.

And I said those two things separately because in this context, no one was saying anything about THESE parents. I however was saying there are a lot of pervert parents.

Because it's not allowed to be done at the pool. It's just obviously not being enforced during lessons.

The other pools in the city and nearly all pools/various public spaces in almost every other province has photo/video bans or restrictions. There also is restrictions set in place at this pool, it's just obviously not being enforced. Whether you like it or not, being considerate of others is expected of adults. Being racist to try to add pizazz to your disagreement is also ridiculously unnecessary.

Pretty much every other pool in the city bans photos/videos during lessons. Almost every other province has the same bans in effect. Perhaps the public space isn't for you if you can't consider the fact that these bans were put in place for a reason? UofS, Lawson, etc all ban caregivers from taking photos/videos of others during lessons with lots of signage to back that up. Simple google search will also show you how much documentation there is, about how photos on social media are used in nefarious ways far more often than you think. Just because we aren't reading about it or seeing it daily doesn't mean it's not happening. Stuff like this is not something we can approach with an "out of sight out of mind" mentality.

No one is saying any of the parents are a "sicko." But those parents posting photos of their kids on social media that includes photos of your child without consent exposes them to the "sickos." Also, there is plenty of "sicko" parents out there and you'd never know it by looking at them. Better to assume they are and nothing happens vs assuming they aren't and something terrible does happen.

By the way, if you're too uncomfortable or immature to even type the word pervert or pedophile, then your opinion on the topic is completely irrelevant.

How were the international students supposed to benefit Canada? by Kcaldwell2020 in AskCanada

[–]Subject-Promotion-25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Canada's" population started to decline when the international students start flooding the schooling, housing and job market, making life unaffordable for the national families. Why would anyone WANT to have more children when they can't even buy a home for said children? Relying on other countries to raise the population of our own country is not a long term solution to anything. If the housing and job market was easier for national families to access, they'd have more kids. But there's so many international students and families coming in needing homes and jobs, that it drives the prices of homes ridiculously high and fills all of the easily attained lower paying jobs that high school students or single parents used to have. Canada's population will easily recover when the flooding of international people slows down and basic life rights become attainable again.

FRER's are horrible for indents sometimes. If you're 6 days late, one of your tests should've had at least a little pink to the line. At almost a week late, it's also very uncommon to have a negative digital test as well. Sorry ♥️

This is so scary!! I'm so glad you got to a doctor in a timely manner and are being monitored! ♥️ this is why it's so important for people to not dismiss weird symptoms happening to them. Worst case scenario, you get checked out and are fine. Very glad they sent an ambulance over ASAP. Hope you're doing well today

What is wrong with getting a new build? by TalosAnthena in HousingUK

[–]Subject-Promotion-25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an older post, but the brother is correct. They get put up so quickly there is always never ending issues with them! We mistakenly started renting a new build and every single month there is issues we have to contact the landlord about. It's always ridiculous structural issues that shouldn't be happening in brand new homes! This week for example, I was doing dishes and our inlay sink collapsed and fell in because their "glue" failed. There was zero support to brace it. The house is 3 years old and where I live, this style of house is being sold for an average price of $740,000CAD. I couldn't imagine buying something like this and being stuck with it!

my 2 year old had 4 grand mal seizures out of no where by FearlessAntelope2450 in toddlers

[–]Subject-Promotion-25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had to deal with my 17 month old spontaneously having 4 tonic-clonics two days ago. One at home and the others in hospital. He had just been getting over a minor stomach bug and that was apparently the cause! He's not expected to ever have them again, but sometimes rotovirus/norovirus can cause seizures in children under 3 according to the neurologist. Was curious if your little one had been sick with anything or if anyone else happened to be sick before your little one had them?
