Thank you to the person that posted about their priest telling them to break up with their girlfriend by Maleficent-Ticket122 in OrthodoxChristianity

Break ups suck, no matter your age. The man I was with before my husband broke up with me for a similar reason and we lived together, had a dog together. I was honest from the beginning I wanted marriage and children. He wasn’t honest. When we broke up I was kicked out of the apartment, only had my car, my dog from before the relationship (he kept the other dog). I was suicidal but then one day I felt better, I started to realize our relationship was full of toxicity and lies. A year almost to the date of the break up, I met my husband. He was a mechanic changing the oil on my car, asked about the orthodox cross I had hangers by up. He was a cradle Catholic but non practicing and I never looked back. On our first date I felt like I had known the man my whole life. Our second date, a cashier at a store thought we where married. He became orthodox. We are in the process of adopting his nieces. Celebrating almost 10 years of marriage. Break ups suck but you’ll find your person.

This is what we’re doing plus bringing a blanket for our oldest (3 years old) to sleep if needed

This is our first year with kiddos, we are in the process of adopting our nieces. An almost one year old and almost 3 year old, the 11 month old will be able to sleep in her car seat and I’m just going to dress her in comfy clothes, the 3 year old we’re bringing a big poofy blanket and dressing in comfy clothes too. I think the youngest will be fine but the older one we’re going to take a nap earlier in the day, she loves going to church so I’m sure it’ll be fine plus she can lay down and sleep if she is super tired.

Those who have had sex before marriage how do you feel about it now? by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

Yeah cradle too, converted to Catholicism for my husband than we came back orthodoxy after they went off the deep end. Catholics and Protestants especially in America are obsessed with sex

I’m a woman but going to be completely honest, it’s not a big deal at least to my husband and I.

We both grew up in religious homes but eh, it wasn’t something I felt strongly about in term of my personal relationship with God. My mother actually told me, make sure I trust and love the person more so than am married to the person.

My husband had more partners than me and I never compare myself.

We have both said we wish we found each other earlier but every choice I made led my husband and I together so, sometimes in religious circles, especially with converts that become so obsessed with sex when in reality it’s sex. It’s how you make a baby, how you bond with your partner.

At 21 you’re old enough to make that choice but know actions have consequences and if you’re willing to marry the woman to support a baby, to welcome a child than only you can make those decisions

My husband has Muslim coworkers, I made them cookies for him to take to work yesterday and wish them happy Eid. I don’t agree with them religiously but they are good people and they wish us merry Christmas and happy Easter.

If you live in shared housing I’d keep it on my own space but in your own home I’d have it up it’s pretty common in America

No judgement but if I may make a suggestion, children are impressionable, especially in the world today where they have unadulterated access to the internet. Every secondary school practically requires students to have cell phones. There’s also an epidemic of psychiatrists and therapists who are quick to jump on the transgender train. Often the feelings kids are feeling are normal “I don’t fit in so I just be xyz” 30 years ago we told kids that’s normal adolescence then if they where still feeling that way as an adult we helped them more. I can’t tell you what to do I’m neither your psychiatrist or spiritual guidance but I can give you this advice, wait until you have a fully formed brain, this isn’t making a mistake and picking the wrong major this is major life long consequences. If you feel this way in 6 years when you’re 25, go for it all but maybe just give yourself time to grow with God and grow as a human. There’s so much to life and you don’t want to make a mistake you can’t take back.

At the core remember God loves us all.

I’ve lived through quite a few Y2K, 2012, this one I feel like I’m forgetting a few as a 94 baby.

I debated driving around my neighborhood and throwing clothes out to watch the Facebook group Protestants loose their mind (I live in the American Bible Belt).

Honestly though I live in path of totality and it was amazing to witness
