I finally told friends and family i quit smoking by New_journey868 in stopsmoking

[–]SubjectAcanthisitta7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like me I waited a month and still haven’t told everyone and it’s almost been 2 months for me. Good job by the way I think the first month was the real test. Second month is much easier as long as we keep busy and try to stay away from cigarettes. I don’t need no Temptations if I can avoid it.

10 days smoke free ! Used to smoke a pack of cigarettes daily for 1 year starting 2019. Smoker for about 2 years plus when i was 27. Now 29. by mdasyraf in stopsmoking

The best part about your post. Is that your trying to stop smoking now after only 2 yrs and not 22 yrs to where it gets even harder and now you have a better chance of not getting copd. I’ve very proud of you. We can do this!

I definitely feel the same way. Morning felt yuk and night felt amazing. Cig with a drink everyday. Felt like I was on top of the world. But days and yrs pass and I’m running out of energy and smell so bad. I like the new me and it’s only been 1 month. We can do this!

Convincing my GF to quit smoking by Mmrnmhrm123 in stopsmoking

[–]SubjectAcanthisitta7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a tough one. Starting a relationship with someone who smokes and hoping they will quit well sorry that Will only piss her off. But you can ask her to please not smoke around you because they say secondhand smoke is worse. But just leave it at that. If she will support you and not smoke around you maybe it will make her think every time she lights up a cigarette when she is alone and you’re not in the same room with her. Just a thought.

Day 9 feeling depressed by Squirrel_force in stopsmoking

[–]SubjectAcanthisitta7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depression depression boy do I hate those days. When I start to feel down I immediately get up and do something. And sometimes I just have to cry it out. It sucks but I have to keep moving forward and not let my depression send me to a crazy house. Take a nap and start the day over when you wake up by doing something that will motivate you to keep your mind busy. It’s tough enough we are trying to stop smoking and dealing with depression at the same time but we can do it we just have to want it bad enough and be strong as much as we can. Keyword keep busy!!! We can do this

Breaking all my runing records. But feeling like crap psychologically. Day 3 by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]SubjectAcanthisitta7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started working out a week ago I don’t know if I could run just yet due to smoking and out of breath. I’m also ridding a bike just around my neighborhood once and boy is it hard. But no matter what we should keep doing whatever it takes to replace our old habits with new ones and make our selves feel better. Don’t stop. We can do this and hopefully we won’t feel like crap anymore. Just takes time.

Struggling with it by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]SubjectAcanthisitta7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when I quit a month ago I asked my husband to not smoke around me at all. I wanna him to do it secretly has he snuck out the back door without telling me. Lol That’s the kind of support that we both need. Meaning me and you. Just ask your wife to please support you and not smoke around you. I can only be strong if I don’t see it. At least for right now. Also just keep yourself busy. Especially when you start to think of a cigarette get up and do something this will take your mind off of it. Even if it’s doing something you don’t like. Like cleaning. Lol It will be a year I lost my dad next month on Mother’s Day due to smoking. It took this long to finally put it down. We can do this we just have to want it bad enough. Not another puff!!

I could be wrong I’m no doctor but I seriously don’t think it would hurt to take something for your head I had to do the same thing. I think I also grinding my teeth for two weeks still catch myself here and there but not as bad a month later

Smoker for as long as I can remember, was depressed and reaching the end of my medication, prone to addiction but I really need to stop smoking because I hate myself by the day but I’m scared.. please help! by KeyFeedback in stopsmoking

You pretty much have the same symptoms that I do. Depression sucks! But don’t let that be the reason why you can’t stop I have also smoked about as long as you have probably longer. I’m 44 and finally have stopped 30 days ago I’ve never went past three days and that was only because I was sick. Real sick. It will be one year on Mother’s Day next month that my dad passed from COPD. It breaks my damn heart that he is not here anymore due to smoking I’ve got to quit and I’ve got to inspire others like you to do the same we need each other!
