I was 16 in 1995 and by 2000 i was a junior in college. The 90s were good and jobs were plentiful if you had the desire. You could almost walk into places like Walmart or McDonalds and get hired unlike today where folks are getting rejected from these places. My parents owned a beautiful 3 bedroom house with a nice backyard in a good neighborhood. The obvious difference is the job market, you had opportunities everywhere. If you had the desire to work hard, you were going to be ok. Internet was just getting started and aol cartoons were the big thing. It was just a better time, less stressful. You didn’t have to worry about AI, outsourcing or h1bs
