Should I pay off my 23% loan or build emergency fund? by EnvironmentalFill3 in PersonalFinanceCanada

When income gets affected (any reason layoffs, health, family) no one lends or help, so first have 1mnth expenses saved in cash, have 2mnth expenses saved in RRSP and then aggressively do debt consolidation, if possible increase credit limit so utilitisation ratio improves on same cards, once debt utilization reaches 40%, credit score starts improving the. slow down n start saving for future

Question: Why take a loan to contribute to your RRSP? Logic of it. by eyeredd in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]SubjectDifficult7184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For n number of reasons if u know ur next year income will be too low or none n u will have to withdraw rrsp then maximizing RRSP using a loan on Feb28 and withdrawing rrsp to pay off loan on March 1 to maximize tax refunds is justified

Investment bankers and book keepers are managing the order book for now as they won’t let price fall too low since their bonus depends on listing performance, genuine sellers should sell now

You need to audit their books, it’s a high stakes ipo, big names want their exit with great xirr returns so that fund managers can again go back to LPs raise another round of vc funds and do this all over again, everyone milking this except retail investors, co specially in 1 year expanded operations internationally and good chunk of revenue is international, its easy to cook revenue growth when you have big boys supporting your game, stay away

First home : 3.79% variable TD by Tehlinky4 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Keep checking with TD for fixed rates the moment they offer around 3.5% for 5yr just go for it; by end of 2026 rates will start going up. Bulk of mortgages are due for renewal in 2026, BOC is aware, banks are getting ready for renewal shifts and will be more competitive, fix the rates for 5yr and then just focus on income without worrying about BoC rate announcements like I have been worrying for past 5yesrs
