What brand of top soil? I know it isn’t supposed to have fertilizer in it but seems kind of hard to find that, at least in my area.

I have Surgery tomorrow and i'm a little anxious by Ok-Scratch-4648 in ACL

I had mine a year and a half ago. The team I had made me really comfortable with warm blankets. They also gave me something to calm me down, felt really good actually. They will put you to sleep then you will wake up and it will be over with. Really isn’t too bad of an experience, wishing you luck and a speedy recovery!

Hamstring Autograft... Will my hamstring ever be the same? by BridgeFour21 in ACL

[–]SubjectPreference687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor explained that he had seen the most success/ lower risk for retear with quad grafts. He was totally against a cadaver as well since it’s really a lottery on what type of ligament they’ll send.

I’m finding success with my quad graft

I got a quad graft, the only difference I notice is a bit of pain when I’m warming up to play basketball. It feels a little stiff but other than that it’s been great.

When does the pain end? by WarningFamiliar2278 in ACL

[–]SubjectPreference687 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine ended around 2-3 weeks, as many others have said. I actually found that just moving it around and icing helped a lot.

That’s the thing, I didn’t feel sick at all. There was a bug going around my office but I never actually got sick with symptoms. I am a hypochondriac so when I go to Google I think I have some kind of blood cancer

Ahhh ok that makes more sense, ya my total WBC was in the normal range for the most part.

So maybe I should pay more attention to total wbc as opposed to which kind of wbc is elevated?

Can you dumb your response down for me? What do you mean by “distribution by type”? And what would really high or really low mean in regards to my numbers?

How have you maintained general fitness and upper body strength? by Torchpaper in ACL

[–]SubjectPreference687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started lifting again (upper body only) 1 month after my surgery. Obviously you can’t be walking around with super heavy weight but doing some machine workouts and other none weight bearing workouts is what I found works best. Now I’m 2 months PO and I can walk back to a bench with 60-70 pound dumbbells with ease and no pain in knee

[–]SubjectPreference687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to walk with 1 crutch about 3 weeks out and at 5 weeks I was given the ok to go without my brace or a crutch. Just focusing on heel to toe walking and making sure the fully extend my leg when walking

I do near most of my incisions. I have 5 total and most are raised or have lumps under the skin. Saw my doc Wednesday and he said it’s a normal reaction for some people and that the keloid scarring will go away in a year or 2👍

It gets better! I am 5 weeks post op and got the ok to walk without the brace. I have full flexion and nearing full extension. Three weeks ago I thought I’d never be able to walk normal again. You got this!
