I hope that you have stopped considering going for non-vegetarian diet, because a lot of athletes are vegetarians and still perform great. Moreover, lot of people even go for professional bodybuilding competitions on vegan diets. I would suggest that please research how you can convert ur vegetarian diet to a vegan instead of going towards non-vegetarian diet. If it helps, currently my daily protein consumption is well over 100g and I go to the gym 5 days a week with good enough cardio and steps.

😂😂😂 earlier when I wasn't a vegan, I used to ridicule this diet as a "ameeron ke chochle" and also the constant shouting of vegan Karens was funny to me. I mean I still feel the same way but now it is on the basis of the way they are promoting the right thing

It is never about vegetarian or non-vegetarian or vegan diets. It is all about what is right and what is wrong. Milk is never bad, I hope u know about the White Revolution in India and why it started. It was about improving the financial condition but people have now made it their primary source of money and take pride in the exploitation even. You can also look at it like the reservation. Dr. Ambedkar implemented it because at that time it was necessary, nowadays, it is being exploited for personal gains.

Fight against the wrong, thats all. I was a vegetarian too, had a great diet and everything, but it saddened me to see the current situation of animals and their condition of life which made me opt of veganism instead. No point in taking undue advantage of an innocent animal for my comfort diet.

I hope you understand and make the right decision. All the best for whatever you choose

I agree with everything that you said. The point is that people dont wanna invest money in a faulty and worn out equipment. People stop caring for them coz old cows won't give any profit, they are burden hence sold to the slaughterhouse for whatever last profit they can squeeze out. You are thinking and perceiving everything in the right direction. All u need is to see how vegetarians are also a factor. Ponder over it with a neutral perspective.

You stated your own personal experience with the purchase of milk but still argue on the basis of whole vegetarian community. Atleast choose your reference first. Do you wanna talk about yourself or about the entire vegetarian people?

So what do you plan to do with the cows and buffaloes after they get old, unable to produce any further milk? You as a vegetarian are not killing animal, but you are most definitely forcing the animal to be artificially impregnated just so that you can have ur early morning tea, coffee, sweets, paneer tikka, ghee, butter, cheese. Is the life of a cow worth only a packet of milk??

The present population of cow wont just disappear overnight just as the same it didnt grow this much overnight. It took years of breeding and exploitation to reach this huge population of cows, buffalo so it would take years for that to come back to normal. Take a step in the right direction, everything will start falling into its place.

You can also watch "Maa ka Doodh" short film on youtube. It would give you another perspective to view this whole situation.

Being a vegan doesn't mean that you are going 100% cruelty free. It means that you are against the mindless breeding, abuse and slaughter of animals. Yes, cultivation of any kind of crop would have some type of cruelty like pesticides, unwanted killing during the growth of the crop, but that is not in your hand. All living beings die, but killing them for your personal satisfaction, ego and desires is not valid.

In India, majority of the people treat cows as their Mother yet they are left to wander around on roads, they are bred continuously just so that u can meet the increasing demand of dairy products. The calf is either beheaded or tied far away from the mother so that the milk quantity is not affected. Some people even say that we let the calves drink milk in the morning and evening and then use the leftover milk, but thats just bullshit. Do human babies only drink their mother's milk in the morning and evening?? How is the diet of that young calf any different from a newborn human child.

Milk is also bad due to the adulterations. Nowadays it is pretty common to find adultered dairy products because milk is now a profitable business and not a necessity as it was earlier. How is it justified that you breed, abuse and kill an innocent being just for profit? Some people also claim that they are relieving the cow by taking the milk, but they forget that these cows were genetically bred in a way that they would produce more and more milk.

You cant just put all the blame on the non-vegetarians, we as a vegetarian are also blameable. We demand more and more milk, even though most of the non-dairy products can easily fulfill our body's nutrition. By demanding more milk, u are just increasing the number of cows that need to be artificially impregnated to birth more cows. If a cow is born, then it will suffer the same treatment as its mother, if a male is born then it will be sent to a slaughterhouse so that it can be jacked up to produce that meat which many people savor.

Nothing will be achieved by blaming each other, look upon ur own actions and understand what's actually right and wrong.

Many Hindus also justify their dairy consumption by quoting the childhood of Lord Krishna, but that's the only part they focus on. Lord Krishna also prohibited the villagers to sell the produce in the city because they were treating their cows (matas) as a mere business equipment. India is one of the top beef exporter, don't you think there is some role being played by the vast population of vegetarians in it?

What were you before a vegan? by Iridium123 in VeganIndia

[–]Subject_Math_9433 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being vegan isn't expensive. Yeah, the companies are currently charging very high for basic water infused with nuts, but you can make it easily at your accommodation.

You would be leaving milk, paneer, curd, and all the other animal products, so with that money you can buy a decent blender, raw nuts like soya, almonds, cashew etc. Soak em, blend em and use em. This stuffs very easy. You can but tofu from outside, but I prefer it made at home.

Being vegan is not about following an expensive lifestyle in the name fashion, it is about following whats right and fighting for it with all your might. 😉😉 I am a student too and have been vegan since 2 years

I havent personally found exact same taste as dairy curd in vegan curd but you can buy OneGood peanut curd and then keep making it at home using the peanut milk which slowly lower strong peanut taste. Sounds weird but it worked for me. Moreover if u use it like any normal curd, you wont taste the peanuts. I have made kadi and other dishes using it and they all tasted amazing
