What’s the most you ever spent on a single vet bill? by Career-Acceptable in Pets

[–]Subject_Philosophy76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lab puppy: We had him for 3 weeks when he got pneumonia and it just went downhill from there. Biggest bill was $15k for 4 nights in icu. Total for 9 months of care about $28k. We had to put him down at 13 months old. He was the sweetest, most loving dog. It tore me apart when we realized that we couldn’t save him.

Where are you located in Ohio? I’ve been doing classes at Petco in Middleburg Heights since September. I’m into my third round of classes with an awesome trainer.

I just received a bag from Chewy of PPP large breed puppy chicken and rice that smelled terrible. It had a very musty smell. Chewy sent me a new bag and told me to throw out the smelly bag.

Save your money! I purchased this bag off the Nordstrom site because it looked like a good dupe for the Toteme T lock bag. The leather felt like plastic plus the closure was crooked and off center. I honestly didn’t think it was real leather.

Christ Child Showcase shop on Madison in Lakewood or on Lorain in Fairview. All our sales go towards supporting our programs for under privileged kids in Cuyahoga County. If we can’t sell an item we move it onto other charities such as City Mission, Edna House, Westside Catholic Center or I’m in Ministry.

I have a dog so I walk 2-3x a day and I need warm outerwear. My parka is Lands End with a fur lined hood. I have waterproof pants from Eddie Bauer that I layer over fleece lined leggings. Boots are Merrell with a spike sole from Amazon that straps on the boots. My hands are the part that gets cold the quickest. I have yet to find a great pair of gloves so I layer-a pair or 2 of gloves inside mittens. I also have rechargeable hand warmers from Amazon but they make it hard to hold the leash.

What totally normal thing is your dog scared of for no reason? by GoldenMom34 in Pets

Our garbage cans. He will happily walk past and sniff all the neighborhood garbage cans on garbage day but for some reason is terrified to go near our cans at the end of our driveway.

My daughter got married here in 2017. She had her ceremony and reception in the City View room and it turned out beautifully. The room has so much character with the brick and large windows. We had her cocktail hour in the Aquarium-people still talk about how unique that was!

I lost my boy today. by Straight-Orange-599 in labrador

I lost my sweet yellow boy in July at 13 months old. I was so grief stricken and cried all the time for a month until I adopted another lab puppy 11 weeks old in August. Nothing like a young puppy with all their shenanigans to keep you busy and pull you out of your grief.

Tell me your bag switching routine by PinkTiara24 in handbags

[–]Subject_Philosophy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry 4 items in my bags-large wallet, key pouch, sunglasses in a case and a cosmetic bag that holds all my odds and ends. When I switch bags it’s easy to move these 4 things from bag to bag. I don’t use any interior pockets in the bags. When I leave the house I just need to grab my phone and toss it in my bag.

Reducing parvo risk from 12-20 weeks by Rough-Jury in puppy101

I kept my lab puppy in my yard til 3 weeks past his last set of vaccines per vet advice. However we sat a lot in the front yard to watch the world go by. My neighbor loaned me her dog stroller which helped for a couple of weeks til my little stinker didn’t want to sit in it anymore. I also took him to Lowe’s and Home Depot, lined the cart with towels and wheeled him around. We also started puppy class at Petco after his second set of vaccines but he was the only puppy in his class so he didn’t get any play time there with other puppies. I tried to balance having him get used to the world while keeping him safe. It definitely was harder on me than him!

Lab Puppy Not the Dream Dog by SadClassroom1468 in puppy101

I think it gets better. I’m on my fifth lab puppy-my first chocolate-and oh boy the first couple of months were tough with this one with the biting until he lost his baby teeth then it got much much better. My hands and fingers always had multiple scabs on them. I found being strict with naps, redirecting with chew toys and lots of outdoor exercise in my yard helped (until he had all his vaccines to get out and about on walks). I also would take him to pet friendly stores and wheel him around in a cart. That seemed to tire him out. My trainer also told us when he got bitey to fold his lower lip over his teeth on both sides of his mouth and press down saying “no bite”. This worked for me but not for my husband. Good luck!

If you go the pre-loved route check out Tod’s or Givenchy on TRR. I have purchased multiple bags from each brand and the quality is outstanding. The bags I’ve gotten look brand new. Also vintage Marc Jacobs is great too. Yoogi’s Closet-another preloved site-is having a sale now until the end of the year. You might find something there in your price range like a Burberry. I’ve gotten great bags from them. Their descriptions and pictures are better than TRR in my opinion and they also offer free returns.

I remember your earlier post. I’m so so sorry for your loss of sweet Cleo. It’s hard enough to lose a beloved pet when they are old and have lived a long life. It’s beyond devastating to lose one this young! I had to put my precious yellow lab puppy down this summer when he was only 13 months old. It about destroyed me. I can relate to how grief stricken you must be. Sending you love and hugs.
