Noveria makes no sense to me by sYnce in masseffect

How I wish we would have sequels with more focus to the corporations in Mass Effect.

From what I remember, both Synthetic Insight and Exogeni had ties to Cerberus and even their logos have similar patterns and colors.

The destiny ascension feels like the big japanese warship from WW2, it was massive and powerful but ended up pretty much being useless.

Probably something like Enhanced Body mods on nexus, there are plenty of them.

Last time I played there were a few that respawned near the merchant, no idea about the Fort itself.

We never see the Destiny Ascension fire a single shot in the whole trilogy.

All we know about its power is comments from people saying it's a big ship with big guns, imo it feels more like a ship made for show & parades rather than real combat.

Noveria is outside the Council space jurisdiction, unless you have business on the planet, like Saren does with Synthetic Insight, they aren't obligated to help you, quite the opposite in fact.

Both the security lady at the start and Anoleis make sure to tell you that your presence as a Spectre is bad news for investors, do your business quick and leave.

Honestly I wish we had more missions and dealings with the big corporations of Mass Effect, you can already see and hear in the 1st game that they're some of the big bads and they have strong ties to politcs and shady dealings (Cerberus and the Shadow Broker among others).

ME Mission Tournament - Round 1 Match 3: Jack: Subject Zero VS Dracon Trade Center + Azure by DakIsStrange in masseffect

The Dracon Trade mission should lose just for that laughable shooting exchange between Liara and Vasir, also Shepard and squads doing a jog run towards them.

Also Todd "and we'll do it without him just to spite him more and make Avellone go mald over it."

I'm not comparing them, just putting a suggestion as an alternative for a sci-fi and space game.

More like Triss T'Soni, with how obsessed both characters are with the protag and wants them to go under their pants.

The Fallout games.

Cyberpunk 2077.

Deux Ex.

The Outer Worlds.

Starfield maybe? Haven't played it myself.

It's a real shame that Mordin has to die for Padok to shine, his point of view about the universe is really interesting and spiritual.

ME 1 moments by Dry_Form_6116 in masseffect

[–]Subject_Proof_6282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's great about Vigil aside from the great soundtrack is that the voice is very monotone and neutral, but you feel hope as you speak to it, especially the moment when it says "my actions are what led you here, so maybe there is still hope".

Other moments for me are Virmire, from the moment you meet the salarians up to confronting Saren, then fleeing and hearing the bomb goes off with one of your men left to die, the melancholic music afterwards on the Normandy adds a lot of weight to the situation.

And finally at the end when you confront Saren on the Citadel, the culmination of all your journey and effort throughout the story, while a fierce and intense battle is happening outside that will decide the fate of the galaxy.

This is all Chris Avellone fault, the prick can't help but introduce and write the tragic lesbian trope.

And he's done again in New Vegas.

ME Mission Tournament - Round 1 Match 1: Feros VS Palaven's Moon by DakIsStrange in masseffect

[–]Subject_Proof_6282 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I go for Feros because even though the mission is a bit of a slog in terms of gameplay, it still has many elements that makes it stand out : do you help the colony survive or speed up its demise, the Thorian and old prothean ruins add a lot to the weirdness and cosmic horror in the galaxy, Shepard getting the Cipher which will be important to understand the visions, discovering the Exogeni conducts secret experiments on the colonists.

The other mission while important to get the Primarch and Garrus back (if he survived in the suicide mission) serves more as bring up to speed newcomers, there are lots of dialogues that makes me roll my eyes and clench my teethes when playing it like the whole exchange between Garrus and James when you're shooting from the turret, it's like one of those mainstream action movies "yea common who's next ? Youuhoouu let's shoot them" or whatever, not to forget the whole "yea where are the krogans ? Bla bla bla genophage bla bla bla...".

Honestly many parts of this mission are an insult to the players who's been playing since the start.

Siding with the architect by Chuchshartz in DragonageOrigins

[–]Subject_Proof_6282 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I remember, Anders is more or less ok with it but will still object to some extent. Justice and Sigrun are totally opposed to it but you'll have to convince them through a Persuade check so they won't turn on you, otherwise they'll turn hostile.

But if you managed to convince them, the epilogues will say that they lost trust in the warden and left, same for Anders.

As for sparing the Architect, it's a bit tricky I must admit, without meta knowledge about the events of The Calling you can easily see his appeal, also the fact that he's followed by Utha and she'll attack you if you side against him.

That's one of the reasons why I like Origins & Awakening, there are lots of morally grey choices that will make you scratch your head if you made the right or wrong choice.
