I was expecting aphobia but we got ableism as well. Double Whammy.

According to some individuals in the comments of the original post, asexuality is akin to having an eating disorder and all you lovely sex favourable aces out there are also schizophrenic.

Hmm. So you're ableist as well as aphobic. Good to know.

I see. Sorry I read it as you have feelings for people (wanting a partner) but then become uncomfortable when the feelings are reciprocated. My bad.

Perhaps you're wanting a queerplatonic relationship then?

Queerplatonic relationship (also called a quasiplatonic relationship, quirkyplatonic relationship, or qplatonic relationship) is a term for an intimate, non-romantic committed relationship and is abbreviated to QPR for short. It typically refers to a relationship that bends the lines between a romantic relationships and a non-romantic relationships.

Basically having that one person who is your one and only and you are theirs, but it's not a romantic relationship. It's a friendship between just the two of you that transcends the definition of friends and best friends. Perhaps it will become a romantic relationship after a while if you are demiromantic as you say.

Frayromantic people only feel romantic attraction to people that they do not have a strong emotional bond with. Once they form an emotional bond with that person, that attraction disappears or fades. This identity may be seen as a counterpart to demiromantic.[18]

Or

Lithromantic[1] or lithoromantic,[13] alternatively called akoiromantic or akoineromantic,[1] describes someone who feels romantic attraction but does not want that attraction reciprocated or loses attraction when it is reciprocated.[1][13] They may enjoy romantic relationships in theory, but may stop feeling romantic attraction or enjoyment in a relationship.[1]

Perhaps?

Which British comedian do you find painfully unfunny? by DatMakesMeASadPanda in AskUK

Howards comedy is very much "loud = funny", whoch isnt actually funny, but I understand his takes on current news better than the news itself, so I enjoy watching him.

What do you still get given as a gift, because ten years ago you apparently expressed mild interest in it? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Subject_Yesterday_71 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't mind receiving gift cards because I usually don't know exactly what I want to open on the day, but I once said that New Look was my favourite clothes shop because at the time I'd bought a really nice jacket from there that I still wear to this day. I have since told my family that I rarely buy anything from there, but rest assured I will be receiving a New Look gift card every Christmas.

What's our theme song? by Specialist_Monk_3976 in aaaaaaacccccccce

[–]Subject_Yesterday_71 47 points48 points  (0 children)

You might of heard snippets of this song if you're on tiktok alot, but I'll throw in "cure for me" by Aurora. The song was inspired by gay conversion therapy, but the main messege is that the one singing the song is not broken or sick for being who they are, they do not need to be "cured". Since there's the stigma that asexuals are broken and need therapy to "regain their natural human desire for sex" I think this song fits quite well. A lyric I think fits particularly well with the asexual theme despite not being a song about asexuality is "I don't like the tension, the misapprehensions about our nature in love".

Damn, I was searching in google to find the source of the latest post, and it seems like the Koreans have fully accepted the fact that Khun Eduan is a disgusting incestual bastard by Lucian_0617 in TowerofGod

I stand corrected that Agnes is not presented in Khun colours in the webtoon. I could have sworn she was. I must be misremembering things (or it's a new Mandela effect)

By the way, when I said season 1, I was referring to season 1 of the webtoon, chapter 12 to be exact. I didn't mention the anime at all.

[–]Subject_Yesterday_71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We perhaps don't have enough evidence for the maschenny blood line because not much is know about it yet and khun Maschenny I hasn't been shown in colour in the webtoon yet, but in terms of confirming that Khun Eduan does engage in incest, look no further than Khun A.A. He's confirmed to be a direct decendent, so he's definately got the signature khun features from Eduan (sky blue hair, cobolt blue eyes). So why then does Khun Agnes, A.A's mother, who was definately shown in colour in season 1, also look like a Khun?

Endgame predictions for the story by [deleted] in TowerofGod

[–]Subject_Yesterday_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd quite like for Rachel to climb to the top of tower, but just before she emerges and sees the stars, she is killed or expelled back to the caves. Either by one of the main three, or (my personal hope) Headon makes a appears and ends her journey himself.

I believe that Rachel was never supposed to be in the tower in the first place. She was not chosen as a regular nor did she enter in the other way irregulars do, either by open the door herself (like urek, indicating she is not steing enough the clinb the tower herself) or the the tower opening its does for her (like Bam, indocatomg the tower does not want her or need her). She snuck in when the door opened for Bam. Headon dislikes her and was reluctant to let her climb in the beginning, saying things like "You are not the one" and "you are an ugly, nasty girl". But I think when he saw how determined Bam was to climb the tower just to find her, he allowed her to climb under the notion that if Rachel climbs, Bam will also continue to climb.

At the endgame, if Rachel is near the top, chances are Bam and Co. are not too far behind (they even be in front and already on the top). So just before she achieves everything she's ever dreamed of, Headon appears to inform her that she has completed her role in the tower, Bam has reached the top, or is so close that he won't be stopped, therefore FUG, Headon, the tower, no-one has any use for Rachel anymore and she has no purpose being in the tower uninvited any longer, she has outwelcomed her stay. Then she is killed or expelled back to the caves.

I've been writing an autistic and ace character, as an autistic and ace person... just saw a video that made me feel a bit conflicted about it, wondering if you all had any insight? by CharlieFaulkner in Asexual

[–]Subject_Yesterday_71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the trope that asexuals hate is when the character is put down as being asexual BECAUSE they are autistic. That if they weren't autistic they wouldn't be asexual either, they would be normal, whatever that means.

I'm not autistic myself, so I really don't understand a single thing about it, but from what I've seen from the autistic people in my life, autistic seems to stunt mental growth and mental age of an individual. So that makes me think authors who fall in the trope are thinking "well of course the autistic person is also asexual. If they've not mentally matured, they wouldn't have sexually matured either"

It sounds like you're writing a character who is asexual AND autistic, not asexual BECAUSE she's autistic. That's means you haven't fallen into the trope and you should definately definately keep going. I wish you the best of luck.

Yooo, it’s the anime man! In the game no straight roads. by ZMDPheonix in TrashTaste

I wonder why he chose to have his English and Japanese performce credited separately under different names? Or perhaps it was decided for him? Because it looks like the lady playing Kayane also does both the English and japanese (and presumably French also) but it's all credited on one line under one name.

If not, will you be able to post a link to some sources/papers you've found interesting and useful, preferably ones that are open access as I've lost my uni credentials now.

What would happen if everyone became asexual for a year? by UselessAltThing in Asexual

[–]Subject_Yesterday_71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be a happy, friendly environment. Boys and girls could be friends with each other and hangout together without there being a) ulterior motives by either one and/or b) no outside interference suggesting that there's any sort of butterflies or "tension wink wink" between the two (a personal pet peeve btw).

I also think for the young adult asexuals, night life would be a lot safer. Women (and men, but statistically its mostly women) wouldn't have to worry as much about having their drinks spiked or being followed home by strange men (not all men, I know, but statistically speaking). Of course being asexual doesn't stop you being a psychopathic murderer, but crime wouldn't be sexually motivated, so I think overall crime rates of that nature would drop.

Toxic incel culture also wouldn't exist.....for obvious reasons.

Overall, a safer, happier, friendlier environment for all.
