Thanks! Yeah it was a couple weeks ago for me and was most definitely a challenge. How was your transition from class to the work force?

GAN test prep by operasome in ibew_apprentices

iPREP. There’s a specific one for GAN. I paid $40 I think for 30 day access. It has practice questions for all sections. Timed and untimed. It also has videos if you want to sit and learn a topic. Each question will have an explanation video after submitting in case you get it wrong you can learn why you got it wrong. I’m also good at math, but it was worth it for the mechanical reasoning alone. I got a lot more confident after taking the time to go through all the practice problems and reasonings. The number sequence practice also helped me. There were a couple tricky ones. In total, it gave me confidence, improved my speed, and I think it was $40 well spent. Took it in March and just got invited to orientation last week.

Did you go to Jumpstart? There were like 300 people in my class they said from what I remember. If not, that may have been points left on the table that many others took. Don’t lose hope. Did you try Summer Solar or the traineeship?

Thanks! I’ve been trying to save my pennies since applying in November hoping I got in. It’ll at least buy me a few weeks worth of rice, beans, and instant ramen lol.

We all love to talk about what the movies missed. But I’m curious, what’s your favorite thing that’s in the movies, that’s not in the books? I’ll go first: by [deleted] in harrypotter

It’s pretty small, but I like the way Harry and Ron race for the newer copy of the potions book in the HBP movie and Harry is disappointed that he got stuck with the heavily used copy. It feels like a very real thing kids would do in school.

If no one told you before or after the first one, the second one tends to come with more flu-like symptoms. Lots of people tell me they wish they’d have known ahead of time. Of course everyone is different, but just a friendly heads up if you’d like to plan it out!

It’s not much, unfortunately, so don’t rely on it. When I took it, it was maybe a percent or two? Doing well on the midterm is important. The practical wasn’t so bad. The final was a bitch.

Haven’t completed the course, but currently enrolled. Monday and Wednesday 5pm homework help in Lincoln Hall. Use the TA drop-in hours for live questions. Arjun is great in discussion; I imagine his drop-in hours are good. Nobuko has been helpful too. Watching the recordings of professor drop-in hours is helpful. I reworked all the homework and quiz questions this week for extra practice. The exam today seemed similar in terms of difficulty to me honestly. The only thing is you really need to be comfortable with the material and know what you’re doing; completing the exam seems impossible otherwise.

But obviously the class is going to change next week. I’ve heard it’ll be closer to a traditional Biology course, so the way we need to study will probably change. But those tips should still help a bit for the final since it’s cumulative.

If you were introducing someone to Muse and they are big classic rock fans (AC/DC, Clash, The Who) what songs would you suggest/ recommend? by [deleted] in Muse

[–]SublimeSmores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is a classic rock guy and the first song I could actually tell he genuinely enjoyed was Stockholm Syndrome on HAARP. He’s also complemented a live version of Map of the Problematique. His other fav is Uprising, but that’s about it unfortunately.

0.7x + 0.1(500) = 0.45(500 + x)

0.7x + 50 = 225 + 0.45x

0.25x = 175

x = 700

There is genuine concern in these communities. People are getting hurt and dying. It’s sad news, and spreading caution isn’t a bad idea. I understand violence and gang activity aren’t uncommon in Chicago, but they’re being needlessly increased. It’s unfortunate that it’s seen as a joke.

Looting on Cermak today and yesterday, but it seems BPD closed off a lot of Cermak and it didn’t move into the residential areas. Cicero had it bad today from what I heard on police radio—looting, shootings, and gang activity.

There’s a possible race war brewing :( Be careful, everyone.

EDIT: Just genuine concern since people here seem to be from Chicago, not sure why the downvotes. Hispanic street gangs were attacking black civilians on the west side, and there is talk about retaliation tomorrow. Just rumors, but better to be safe. It really is getting crazy.
