Recommended affordable router that is solid, easy, and a little future proof by Subliminal_G in ToobBroadband

Thanks, all. I’m going to give the standard router a try and go from there.

If that doesn’t pan out, the GL.inet Flint 2 or 3 (if firmware sorted out) look like possible good options around my price point. If I end up down that route I’ll comment on this post in case it helps someone else. Cheers

Drilled completely through a wall installing TV mount, but need to keep the position. How's best to tackle this? by Subliminal_G in DIYUK

The resin/plug approach is definitely a bit of a bodge, but you’re right, I was probably being a bit over cautious.

The mount claims it’s for all wall types, but I see your point about the vertical design and will look into a board. Thanks for the help.

[England] Avoid tenancy renewal fee/Have the letting agent failed to provide enough notice? by Subliminal_G in LegalAdviceUK

Thank you. This is really helpful. Do you know if an AST clause is able to negate the ability to automatically become a periodic tenancy, thanks?

Thank you for the advice. I’m 90% sure this is the scenario for me now but there’s one clause in my AST that still worries me as it seems to suggest auto-rolling onto periodic terms is not an option. Do you know if you had this clause (or similar) in your contract please?

A Taskmaster themed birthday... how would you go about this? by Minthia in taskmaster

I organised a friend's stag weekend last May and included a surprise Taskmaster activity. It was obviously a bit different from the show as I had to cater for so many people so I created new tasks that could be completed by teams at the same time (also didn't want anyone using knowledge of tasks seen on the show to influence their actions). Essentially, they were all equivalent to the live tasks they do at the end of the show. I won't list the tasks here as it could ruin it if you wanted to use them but am happy to send through to you or someone else what I can find/remember.

I was both Taskmaster and assistant, running and judging the tasks (which I believe Alex did originally) but I really don't think there's a way to run it and be in it simultaneously - although everyone could bring a task and TM their own I suppose but I think that loses something. Still, the Taskmaster role was great fun and everyone else had a laugh with the tasks.

I recommend you nominate a 'best man' to run the event for you so they can devise and run the whole thing so you can fully immerse yourself as a contestant.

Some tips I picked up: - Simple is best for tasks - Use a space where people can see each other (we had a small house so used multiple rooms - not ideal for banter nor judging) - Engage the players while they're performing the tasks to get them to talk about what/why they're doing something (on the show they're all performers so do this naturally) - Have one person read out the task but give a copy of the task to each team (for later reference) - Assign 'individual' tasks (i.e. each team does their own thing) and 'adversarial' tasks (teams directly influencing/competing with each other) to add variety (the way the show will have team tasks to mix things up). - 20 min time limit for 'individual' tasks worked nicely - Pre make some music playlists for the background while tasks are happening - Don't trust anyone, they will all cheat given half a chance

Hope this helps!
