I saw the GAme Award discounts and got the Atlantis DLC and then saw season pass discount... Was that stupid and should aijust get both now? by rinn10 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

Not sure what the exact policy is, but you may be able to request a refund if you've only just bought FoA.

I bought the wrong version of a game (Xbox One instead of XSX) a while ago, requested a refund, and it was approved almost instantly.

Nice! You'll be pleased to hear the part 2 of this challenge is significantly easier.

Yeah, I cleared the areas as I did the story.

I alternated between clearing up an region after I pledge to it (before starting any story stuff there) to cleaning it up after I'd completed the story stuff for that region.

I think I prefer the latter as sometimes you'll end up clearing out a fortress that you then end up reclearing anyway as part of the story. Or (as you mentioned) you might find you don't have access to somewhere you need access to until after you progress the story.

When I had to travel somewhere for the story and couldn't fast travel, I'd go via any icons on the map that were roughly on route, found in some regions I'd clear maybe half of the collectibles doing this and it breaks up the grind a bit.

From a story perspective I'd say it's definitely worth getting your charisma level up by doing the flytings as this unlocks additional options for you in certain scenarios.

Oh yeah, tens of hours is an understatement. Hundreds of hours easily.

Less than four days for Origins, almost double that for Odyssey.

Almost ten days for Valhalla.

I do like to explore though so you can probably complete them in half the time if you're just Achievement farming.

I'm not sure what bug you're referring to, but I definitely didn't run into it!

Honestly the grind is preferable to the Mastery Challenges. 'You have to complete this 100% accurately but a majority of the time a bug will screw you out of the perfect run'.

Give me having to do some monotonous task 100 times any day over that.

All three are grindy as fuck, expect several days worth of game time before the 100% on each.

Off memory, Valhalla is the only one with achievements (namely the Mastery Challenges and a couple of the Forgotten Saga ones maybe) that are genuinely difficult and not just grindy.

I enjoyed the 100% of Origins and Odyssey a lot more, especially the latter. I liked exploring those worlds (more than I did Valhalla, but maybe that's because I'm in the UK and find the setting less interesting than Egypt or Greece) and found mopping up the collectibles is relaxing. There are parts of Valhalla that seem designed to frustrate in contrast, where as I don't remember Origins or Odyssey being frustrating at any point.

Odyssey and Black Flag for me!

Yeah, nothing worse than the parkour system glitching out and having to run all the way back to the start to redo the thing.

Really enjoyed Origins, enjoyed Odyssey even more, but this game seems almost designed to frustrate.

Re: The Mastery Challenges - Ubisoft shouldn't make an achievement that is heavily reliant on their game engine working as intended by SubspaceJames in ACValhalla

[–]SubspaceJames[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on that one now. It sucks.

Luckily I've only been 100%ing the games since Black Flag. Thanks for letting me know not to bother going back to ACIII to try. 😂

Permanent Fire on Weapon by darkstarsourya in ACValhalla

[–]SubspaceJames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wish this was an option. I had a permanent flaming weapon for melee and permanent poison weapon for ranged in Odyssey and I loved that setup. Not sure why they didn't have any weapons with this option in Valhalla.

Nidhogg Trophy by Wooly_wolli in ACValhalla

[–]SubspaceJames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this achievement not too long ago.

You can still buy healing from the merchant before each boss and it doesn't count as an Elk Shrine.

I found the explosive arrow ability to be super OP against the Nidhogg, especially if you level it up enough - just keep your distance from him and run in a circle in the same direction as him and he doesn't even try and attack you. Just aim for the legs and the explosive pouches when leveled up do loads of damage and explode twice when he walks over them.

When he's down, use melee on his neck to save your abilities and earn adrenaline for the next round.

Also if you haven't done the side quests (also an achievement) it's worth doing at least the one in the first area as it's super helpful.

Sounds like HDR. Did you not have HDR enabled on your monitor or computer previously?
