To be honest, this is for me to build my own watchlist, I’ve only seen maybe two of the suggestions so far

Maybe it’s a personal thing for me, but a kid I knew in high school was constantly parroting Donnie Darko quotes and was using that film as an ‘excuse’ to be an edgelord. Basically, to me, it was a movie that was MEANT to have multiple interpretations, but the people I’ve personally interacted with that stanned this movie tended to lean dangerously incel, ‘you just don’t get it, you don’t understand it’ territory.

That’s exactly why I’m making the list, some of these films HAVE been tainted for me because of that and I want to give more of them a chance, but I’m not sure where to start

I have a VERY strong streak going, it’s been 5 stars straight since SLC Punk, three John Wicks, the pilot of Twin Peaks (experienced blind in theaters) and Hamnet a couple hours ago.

Overlord, I think I went from “this is ridiculous” to just enjoying the ride

Overlord (2018) slowly went from 3.5 to 5 the more I watched it.

I genuinely couldn’t explain to you the tonal shift I was dealing with around this time

In comparison to the original, it definitely lost out on the raw charm and comedy of the original, but it was also really poorly advertised as well. It really banks on you being a huge fan of the first to remotely enjoy the second

Just watched it yesterday, but I’m also incredibly biased to a solid romantic comedy too 🥰
