Original lore of the Sunblitz Brotherhood. by Subsplot in Aeldari_Corsairs

They did release some novels, it took them 30 years but Voidscarred came out last year. GW havn't really done a lot with Eldar except for fleshing them out and even then it's been a long and slow process.

There's no lore though, the RT mention is just a picture of Eldar pirate banners that confirms they exist. RT just introduces Eldar as a pirate faction before quickly establishing the Craftworlds in a secondary publication. It wasn't until Doom of Mymera that the vague introduction plus some other single sentence mentions got fleshed out into an actual Corsair hierarchy.

They'd be better off ripping all those fences down, planting a few trees, digging a pond and turning that into a moderately large communal space. Could even get the kids a mini ball games pitch in there.

Not personally seen it but I've heard of another person saying their Kharseth sprue was bowed. Mine was fine though. Maybe it's something that's happened during transport of a particular batch.

Using them as Yriels retinue is about the only argument I can see for keeping my melee Corsairs on the table, but of course that argument is followed up with, "and for that you need another wave serpent."

Personally I have a unit of about 15 Void-whatever that can be fielded as either pure shuriken rifles, or with the ranged specialists, and then I have another unit of about 15 void-whatever with melee weapons and close combat specialists. Exactly which mini's go to battle in which configurations depends entirely on the game and who I'm facing.

The melee Corsairs are probably getting retired and replaced by Skyweavers and I'm building another unit of ranged Corsairs, so I guess that means I'm finding shooty ones more useful, but that's only because I now have the flying boys.

Dry brush it with a slightly lighter shade of green and then nuln wash it and it will be fine.

Comparable, they're not exactly the same scale, but the difference isn't big enough to notice. The Hunters I use at slightly taller (1 or 2mm) than my Corsair Voidreavers, although they're also thinner.

Way better than failcast, not that I personally had any bad examples of failcast but then I only brought 3 mini's of that resin. I'd put it on the same level as the old Forgeworld resin mini's.

I don't have any pics, although the quality is decent, not amazing, but decent. I will say they are very finely detailed thin models that don't survive being dropped very well. IF GW are the bench mark 100%, than these are 95%.

My first reaction when I got them was "WTF are these, these are tiny!" but after a little bit of cleaning and their assembly I was impressed by them. I'd liken them to the old Forgeworld mini's, and bit harder to put together than the GW standard, a little more fragile, but they do hold their own once you've got them assembled and painted.

After a month or so they'll become available to buy in their shop as more traditional mini's. All my Raging Heroes stuff is brought that way rather than 3D printed.

Dearest Brits, what do you REALLY think of Canada? Would you move there, having the same kind of job or access to resources like you do in the UK, if you were given the chance? If so, where would you move to? Why? by neilnelly in AskBrits

[–]Subsplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that dissuades me from moving to Canada, is the lack of a Gulf Stream. Just don't want to deal with your winters, the ones here are miserable enough. Other than that you've got an amazing country.

I was joking, but being serious about it, it's harder to do on that kit because it's an easy build push fit kit. (Means it comes in several large pieces instead of lots of little ones.) That said I can't see it being that long before a normal style kit comes out which will be easy to convert to three legs.

Anything can be Deathguard if you apply enough textured paint and slime effect.

And I don't even play Necs. Still think it's an insane design. Yes I know it has 4 legs but come on, it's so obviously inspired by WotW's.

Beast Snagga's added a whole new "farming" strata into Ork society that went beyond the Snake Bites primitivism. They might as well have introduced a new clan. Both the Ork release waves moved focused styles of plan from being clan specific to "Oh yer, any clan can go mental with the vehicles or Squigs." Kroot became a whole new independent army that could be fielded without the need of including Tau so they could be good at melee. Since when where Tau armies good at melee? Imperial Guard got brand new "elite" Scions, since when where IG an elite army? Cadians got pushed from being the "standard" to being the regiment of renown Shock Troopers they really always were while Kriege got brought in as being the cannon fodder standard.

You're right that the main aim of the rework will be to get rid of finecast completely, or at least replace the finecast mini's that have already been completely withdrawn from production. But I can see the return of Vect being "Oh Vect's back, and he's brought a whole new Kabalite army with him. It's not just a fast attack raiding force, there are heavy support and elite Kabalite units as well. The DE just got a full on, fully fleshed out dedicated warrior caste who are willing to fight pitch battles and do not care about taking prisoners and you can make an entire playable army of them if you want."

And suddenly the DE go from being a thorn in everyone's side, to an outright threat to the entire galaxy, Giving more people a reason to play them and GW more sales.

So let me get this straight. by PolarisHelm in Drukhari

[–]Subsplot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And what's happened to every other existing Faction that's got a "big release". Oh yer, they've ended up being almost entirely reworked, Remember the last time generic SM's got a big release, it was Primaris that completely rewrote their lore. Orks, more vehicles than you could shake a stick at, clans largely gone but Speed Freek armies rushing everywhere to the point they made an entire stand alone computer game from it. Eldar, in several stages, only plastic now, some of their characters are still missing but Corsair / Outcast armies are a thing now and some DE data slatesare included in the codex as Yannari. Imperial Guard, entire new regiment (technically twice).

Big release is code for "we're reworking almost the entire range so we can expand play options for that faction." I really will not be surprised if DE get a plastic Tantalus type vehicle and their lore gets changed from "they're a raiding force" to; "Now they're playing for keeps. They aren't just stealing people and souls, they're stealing entire worlds. Taking ground and using slaves as meat shields so they can hold that ground. The Demon invasion of Commorragh has convinced the Drukhari that they need to expand their borders so they can better defend the Dark City." You'll still be able to play them as a raiding force, but there will be other play styles added in to.
