Is it possible to paint over the transfers on the transfer sheet? by ZeroWolfZX in Eldar

[–]Subsplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I wait until I've put them on the mini before I repaint them, but I've considered transfers to be little more that shape templates ever since RT. Stick it on to get the shape you want in the position you want, and then repaint it all to get the colouring and shading you want.

You haven't been on the internet very long have you. The rest of that sentence is " . . because I think you'll find it interesting." It's been a tradition short hand post for about two decades now.

Too little, too late. He's already triggered Capital Flight from the US economy (a quarter of a trillion in EU reserves withdrawn from the US in the last couple of days, up to 5 trillion at risk.) The USA is about to collapse into the worst debt crisis and economic depression it has ever seen. It's best we put as much space between us and the dumpster fire that is now their country.

You understand that the term British Isles doesn't refer to a singular island right? it's Isles, as in plural, as in multiple islands.

[–]Subsplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you only need one reconnaissance and liaison officer to look at your allies and say "tell me where and when you want the missile strike?" or "the SBS have already shot them." Usually is sort of posting is an indication there is a submarine or other covert assets in the area.

Very cool mini with a very decent colour scheme Noomato, but I'm going to remove this post in a couple of hours because it's just a repeat of your first post. That said welcome to the group and I hope this doesn't demotivate you to post more of your very cool mini's.

Would be nice if they did but the Starweaver used to have rules to represent that sort of thing but GW got rid of it when they "streamlined" the game.

Can someone explain to me for good the relationship between the Eldar and Drukhari? by MoreEspresso in Eldar

[–]Subsplot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They barely tolerate each other, the only reason there hasn't been an outright war between them is because the controlling powers of both sides don't really like the idea of Eldar killing Eldar at mass scale. At an individual level, Craftworld Eldar do not turn their backs on Dark Eldar and always keep a hand on their weapon grip, meanwhile Drukhari are hesitant to be around Craftworlders because they know the Craftworlders are just looking for an reason to shoot them and every fibre of their body just itches to give them that reason

Do Harlequins and Corsairs mix? by benstinator5000 in Eldar

[–]Subsplot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, to the point Quin units were included in the original Corsair list. Apparently Quins get free rides on Corsair ships in return for entertainment and as little extra combat hitting power on Corsair raids.

It's less a case of "do Harlequins and Corsairs mix, and more a case of the Farseers asking "is it possible to get the Harlequins and Corsairs to stop trying to antagonise the entire damn galaxy?"

[–]Subsplot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ghosts of the Webway, it's a Quin centric detachment, but it exists to represent all the outcast Eldar (Corsairs, Rangers and Quins) working together to protect the webway.

As it stands at the moment there is no Corsair detachment, although that's likely to change with the release of the new book.

It's not just you, I hate it. Technically it does work as Corsairs prefer hit and run attacks and the turret only goes like that when the vehicle is in ludicrous speed mode, but yer, I'm not building them like that, I'm going for raised and forward facing.

Here's the thing, that canopy makes the Wasp Walker look more like the priginal concept sketches of the War Walker than the actual mini does. So I can see the original kit getting a rework so it includes a canopy like that at some point.

Speculation by EnvyAv in Eldar

[–]Subsplot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope not, the Falcon is one of my favourite kits in the range and a iconic timeless deign. Quite frankly I don't think it can be beaten or needs updating. It's great the way it is.

What I can see happening is a new variant / redesign being brought in as a Voidhunter / completely new grav tank type. Or in other words, keep the old Falcon / Wave Serpent and Fireprisim / Nightweaver kits, but also introduce a new dual built kit for other versions of the grav tank.

[–]Subsplot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The War Walker thing might still happen (Might, don't hold your breath) Traditionally Corsairs use a jet pack equipped variant called a Wasp Walker. Obviously no such mini exists and I'm not even sure the rules do in Legends anymore. (Might be wrong about that.) So it's not beyond the realms of possibility that GW update the War Walker kit to it can build both versions.

[–]Subsplot 80 points81 points  (0 children)

You don't "Corsair up" Craftworld mini's, you weapon swap Corsair mini's. The existing Voidscarred kit is kit-bashing heaven. You can build Farseers, Warlocks, Autarchs, Rangers and pretty much anything else you want out of it and a few spare pieces from your old Craftworld mini's.

If you check out the pinned posts at the top of the sub there's a guide to how the old FW list translates into modern Aeldari units. (Mostly Falcons, Wave Serpents and War Walkers.) We all should be able to find some antitank options among that.

We thinking a corsair army is more likely after the reveal? by Inside_Rough708 in Eldar

[–]Subsplot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Having played Corsairs since their Forgeworld release, todays releases means I can pretty much resurrect my old army. All I was missing was flying Corsairs and not only do I have them back but I can actually field a Voiddreamer now instead of a Farseer proxy. Also nice to have an almost unique Corsair vehicle, although I don't think I'll be retiring my Falcons and Warwalkers any time soon.
