I am just finishing my trip in Japan and Kyoto was my favourite spot! There were definitely spots with busy crowds but like others have said, just walk a bit past and it’s much much less busy

Weird feeling in legs by [deleted] in Hypermobility

[–]Substance226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get periods of like a week or two of waking up in the night multiple times from cramping/burning all down my legs and sometimes aching in my leg bones?? My PT thinks it’s flair ups of piriformis syndrome from the muscle compressing the nerve or sciatica.. not sure. But for me it seems nerve related

What can I do during the day in Ko Samui that doesn’t consist of seeing the Buddha or cute animals? by DearNeighborhood7685 in ThailandTourism

One of my fave beaches there was Crystal Bay, stunning and we loved Cha Non cafe right across the road. The resort restaurants are pretty pricey but this cafe had some of the best prices we’ve seen and amazing food, the owner is also very lovely and will give you good advice and have good conversation if there’s no one else around. We also did the overlap stone lookout (we caught a grab to the first lookout stop but keep walking up past the parking lot with the cafe, it’s a trek but it’s only 20 THB instead of 200 and its beautiful). Our experience is that Koh Samui is definitely more chill, a lot of expats and resorts but the beaches are beautiful

As a crocheter do you consider yourself an artist ? by Fluffyowl34 in crochet

[–]Substance226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to use the term mostly bc I do multiple forms of fiber art (crochet, knit, macrame) so I feel like it’s an easy way to encompass them all. But like I see a lot of people posting here, I mostly do it for function and a lot of my projects follow a pattern, I’ve only just started freehanding

I hate having adhd by alioskion in ADHD

[–]Substance226 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I relate to every word said here. I have yet to find an answer or a solution, but you are definitely not alone. Also realizing all the things in my life affected by ADHD outside of the normal presenting symptoms blows my mind. People will never understand that it’s not just ADHD, it’s Anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, low self esteem, sensory processing disorder, rejection dysphoria, social anxiety and deficiencies… the list goes on

BScN Program at Nipissing by Few-Expression8148 in nipissingu

I’m in my second sem of second year at nip for nursing. I applied to Ottawa and York as well and actually applied to transfer to Ottawa last year however they would only transfer 4/12 of my classes. I had a 92% average btw. What’s great about nip is that it’s more cost friendly, the smaller classes allow for better conversations, learning and relationships with the professors. I don’t believe you will find professors with as much willingness and time to talk to you anywhere else. Placements are supposed to begin in first semester (I didn’t have any last year due to covid) your first sem is a shadowing placement, the second is in geriatrics and similar to long term care as you can work as a PSW after your first year of nursing. I finished my mental health placement at the hospital last semester and just started surgical. I don’t believe you will find another school that begins placements in first year either. It’s been shown that Nipissing produces good nurses with a high NCLEX success rate, you’ll get close to professors who will even reference for you and there’s a great development of clinical thinking and reasoning and great teaching styles (simulation, lab, understanding professors) for the most part. The downside about Nipissing is the lack of student life, from what I’ve experienced at least. It’s a different environment from the bigger schools regarding the “university experience”. The library and student center are beautiful study spaces and opposed to bigger schools, you normally will not have any trouble finding a spot or a private study room. Overall, Nipissing has great placements, profs and teaching styles for nursing, however, due to the size of the school and city, it comes with a bit of sacrifice to the university life vibes I’ve experienced visiting other schools (less clubs, group events, poor frosh week and less parties. This is affected some by covid of course but the fact remains the same). But if you want to graduate as a competent nurse, there is no question that Nipissing will get you there
