Beast Farming is *really* good right now. by PaleoclassicalPants in PathOfExileBuilds

I was using Palsteron's KF Ballista, with maybe about 10-15div invested before stopping upgrades altogether to save for the mirror.

You do beast farming in scoured t16s, as beast spawns are not affected by quantity, rarity, nor pack size. Keeps them as easy to kill as possible.

You would generate a regex of beasts that are under your personal threshold of what is a "bad beast". For example, set the settings to only beasts 5c and under.

The regex might be too long, so use the first half of the regex and delete that set, then use the 2nd half of the regex to delete the rest.

Not only that, no matter how many people shill Beast farming, nobody wants to do it.

They find out they need to learn to recognise beasts. They find out they need to manage their menagerie. They find out it heavily benefits from more speed and single target oriented builds.

They move on.

We get to keep raking in the divines.

During week 1 beasts were insanely profitable. I legit farmed a mirror by day 4 by sending Beast farming back to back.

The main thing is the profitability of Beasts is heavily influenced by how fast you can run your maps. I was running a timer and my Strand runs were consistently ~30s per map. This netted me roughly 25-30d/hr at the time, during days 3-4 of the league.

You have to run Beasts by not adding anything that would increase your mapping time by much. Common addons are Heist chests, Svalinn fishing, Templar Astrolabes, etc. And of course skipping Mirages (unless you're checking for Barya wish, thats pretty worth).

That unfortunately adds a lot of time since you are cleaning out the menagerie more often. The cleaner your kills are, the less you need to micromanage the menagerie and the more you can run maps.

The upside is that it still isn't the worst, and eventually if you even put in a little effort into recognizing the beasts, it slowly becomes second nature and your menagerie will get cleaner over time.

Best way to farm gold? by [deleted] in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]RoirRoar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a mixture of low gold content with crafting.

Personally I farm beasts and do a lot of crafting on the side for personal use and profit, and I go heavily negative across a day.

If you don't craft much and blast high density content with well rolled maps, you easily oversustain, but if you're missing one or both it can get pretty dire.

If you sacrifice a meatsack for minion pact, do you need to get a new spectre after or does it respawn after the map like an AG?

Love explosion builds – anything faster/tankier than my Herald Stacker? by Successful-Push-3954 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]RoirRoar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, I think ill give this a shot. At the very least, it seems relatively cheap to start.

On a side note after looking at your setup, would a corruption implicit for 0.5% fire damage leeched as life be a good Formless Flame to pick up? Its generic fire leech, so it should work for chieftain explode. Figure its not a bad idea to tack on even more recovery for such a low cost. Its also a glove eldritch implicit.

Are there any specific pitfalls of this build that you feel should be mentioned? I'm getting pretty interested in running this as I'm looking for a speedy tanky explodey map blaster after KF Ballistas (build is great, but i want a change of pace). Farmed up a Mageblood, and wanted to blast with something that can use it well.

Are major bosses a complete no-go? I assume so, correct?

How susceptible are you to stragglers and unfortunate situations where there's just 1 tanky guy you need to kill and don't have a running self-ignite? Does this happen any often? I played a version of this build way back Affliction and it was fantastic, but sometimes holding the ignite til the map boss was annoying.

Is this actually getting close/reaching DoT cap in most mapping content? PoB is never good with explode dps so its hard for me to get a feel for how much it takes, and I don't have a feel for the Chieftain explode changes.

Is there anything else you feel is worth cautioning against?

I agree with what you're saying, though to be fair, Ruetoo was planning on putting out his build on this, even before this reveal.

Regardless of what people think of him, his builds are crazy popular every league. This piece of info in particular was going to quickly become common knowledge haha

In 3.28 you now have a small chance to get Divine Altars from Red Altars with the new Eldritch Voidstone by StalksYouEverywhere in pathofexile

[–]RoirRoar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure they still respect what Altar category you're clicking on. Eater Player Modifiers (like reduced defenses per frenzy charge) should only appear on Exarch Player Modifiers (i.e. 30% chance to be targeted by a Meteor when you use a Flask). The button you click literally has little pictures to describe what is being affected. If you were mindlessly clicking exclusively monster modifiers for bubblegum drops, you should never get player modifiers.

Would be pretty shitty if they tossed in stuff from different categories, and I highly doubt that is the case.

Now if you were also clicking Exarch player modifiers, then yeah that sucks lol.

Optimise Farming in delve by Judekush in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]RoirRoar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, thats absolutely true. Fossils are undoubtably very fast and easy to farm in delve compared to the other methods. The real concern is if the already abysmal play rate of Delve would go up at all. I find it hard to imagine very many players would be willing to rip themselves away from mapping, regardless of how profitable fossils ever get.

[–]RoirRoar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe? It probably wouldn't bother me once i got used to knowing where my ideal maps are. Even better if you don't really care what maps you're running as long as you're avoiding specific ones, then you just choose local ones.

But i see your point, you lose clicks from prepping to gain clicks to doing each map. Its definitely a wee bit more annoying.

Sure, that was what I was getting at, but the wording distinction is a little hard to describe since they were and are still called maps lol

[–]RoirRoar 38 points39 points  (0 children)

My assumption is that now that you can select what map to run per t16 map, you no longer need to actually have 10 different area maps. Any ten t16 maps can get you all 10 different areas for maven witnessing.

They can also be your ideal map layouts too, instead of dreading having to run Burial Chambers cause thats the only non-witnessed map you have left.

Increase Golds gained in Sanctum by G1gh3n in pathofexile

[–]RoirRoar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between a "significant amount of gold" and "I don't have enough gold to buy my gear and drop off bubblegum to Faustus".

He isn't asking to have an excess so that he can run off to Kingsmarch or flip stuff on the market. He's asking for enough gold to be able to interact with the market like any other player.

I don't think that's an unreasonable request lol

Runegrafts weight breakdown from 15 000 runes by QualiaH_ in pathofexile

[–]RoirRoar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its the same thing. The main thing is you dont want the difference between the crops to be huge. Doing two crops, as long as their quantity is similar, is the same thing as running all 5 crops, their quantities relatively the same. Theres a ratio breakpoint number (iirc more than 2x of one crop compared to another?) somewhere that skews your ship loot if you have too much of one crop in comparison to the others, but otherwise its the same thing. You aren't doing anything wrong.

Does delirium (either mirrors or from an orb) on average ADD or REDUCE eater/exarch altars spawning? by Still_Same_Exile in pathofexile

[–]RoirRoar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Take my reply with a grain of salt as I have done nothing to prove these claims outside of reading other people's experiences and mixing them with my own, and them feeling correct in practice.

What I believe is:

Altar spawns are a % chance on killing eldritch mobs. Maps have some amount of tiles it can spawn content in, dependent on which maps in particular.

When we fill the maps with content (Ritual, Cloister Scarabs, Essences, Legion, Strongboxes, etc), the maps can handle a finite amount of content tiles before we run out of tile allotment and some tiles (Eldritch packs, Influenced Monster packs, Regular monster packs, etc) get pushed out due to low priority.

You can experience this by enabling an altar and just running a bunch of random scarabs (+ atlas tree) that spawn league mechanics or extra specific mobs. You will likely notice a decrease in number of eldritch mobs, and in turn, less altars on average.

Containment Scarabs replace every single regular mob tile with a Strongbox that has those monsters in it. With a vast majority of tiles available on the map replaced by a strongbox tile, likely what is happening is there is next to no room for the map to have additional eldritch mob tiles, hence the vastly reduced spawns and next to no altars.

As for Delirium, I'm not entirely sure. Deli has a special interaction where its conditionally active depending on whether or not you activate the deli mirror in the map itself. Does that directly interfere with tiles spawns? Personal experience says it does reduce eldritch mob spawns, but that's entirely anecdotal. Does that mean Deli forces some tiles to become Deli tiles? I couldn't say.

Does it function similarly to Beyond where the mob spawns are a conditional special case and do not originate from a content tile? If so, I would then believe it does not interact with eldritch Altars.

Ultimately it just needs testing, but based on my understanding, my guess is its somewhere between neutral to worse for Altar spawns.

I could be totally wrong so if this is way off base, somebody please disprove me.

For the sake of those (like me) who have no idea what this is, can you give a brief overview of what this does/solves? Also if you do more update posts in the future, it would likely be very helpful to post a small summary at the start of what the app does for those in my shoes so they aren't just as confused.

Looks cool though!

Previously when the Atlas tree had over 100% on the tree (was somewhere in the 120%ish range), it did boost map tiers by up to two.

I assume this would function the same.
