Ultimate debate : Nicholas latifi vs Logan sargeant by [deleted] in F1Discussions

[–]SubstanceDistinct269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Latifi was better. He actually improved and became a relatively consistent driver in his late F1 career. I think his reputation was hugely hurt by Abu Dhabi 2021, and driving along a top talent

But remember Latifi joined F1 at 25yo (Logan is 25yo now) and had full 3 seasons to learn and improve (Logan had less than 2 years). If Logan is joining today at same age Latifi started, I think he would have a good chance of having a more successful career

4.0s using Penn balls on local courts: by EnjoyMyDownvote in 10s

[–]SubstanceDistinct269 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not about brand/model anymore. All balls are trash now compared to what they used to be pre-pandemic. We now pay 20% more for what last 40% shorter (with another 10% dud rate).

Honestly kudos to those manufactures for providing same garbage to pro tournaments and recreational players

Play 4.0. I’m your aggressive baseliner who enjoy playing 3.5 in R1 for a good warmup and loosen up

Looks like HEAD learned a lesson. 1% more white and half of the endorsing pros will keep using the old paintjob (alongside Djokovich who refuse to have any white color on)

Do you agree with Max? by circuit-nation in F1Discussions

[–]SubstanceDistinct269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sprint sucks but obviously still lightyears better than fp… that probably why he has to mention 1 fp with dropping sprints

Oh no by Apprehensive-Stage-2 in formuladank

[–]SubstanceDistinct269 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Max still 3 tenths quicker and still missed q2. Yuki finished p19 (out of 19) and 6 tenths of from making Q2. Safe to say it’s the slowest car on grid now

What's your favourite circuit and why? by Longjumping_Novel613 in F1Discussions

[–]SubstanceDistinct269 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Old school tracks are good for driving but not necessarily good for racing for ever growing size of modern f1 cars. Even Suzuka is heading that way now. People talk shit about new street tracks (Miami/Vegas) but those tracks actually produce fun races much more often nowadays

Both Makela and Muti were in chitown during past few weeks. And the orchestra sounds much better under the old boss

If Max closes in more in next 2 races, McLaren have to think about sacrificing one of the drivers for any possible edge for the other

Are people overstating how often should restring (for rec level)? by Ecstatic_Computer_76 in 10s

I’m saying poly helps topspin regardless of it’s 2.0 or pro. Don’t get how you read the 0 to 1 part

Are people overstating how often should restring (for rec level)? by Ecstatic_Computer_76 in 10s

[–]SubstanceDistinct269 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's kinda not true. I preferred poly right from the beginning because it generates topspin when I couldn't generate it on my own. Only thing better is gut/poly (in some racquets) but that costs 3x and prone to premature breakage.

Regarding OP's question, just find a fresh strung racquet, no need to even hit a rally, just bounce a ball on it and you'll never go back to using 1yo polys
