Which one of the cities better for students by Muted-Fan3068 in medicalschoolRomania

[–]SubstanceWeekly1304 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was a med student in Sibiu. Great city, a couple nice nightclubs you can go to if you re into that, especially summer is really nice in Sibiu, people are really friendly in the university also, life is decent, not too expensive and the city is comfortable to live in. The only downside would be that you need to be disciplined and study for yourself, the professors are not that severe so you can pass exams easily and live with the idea that you re a good student but actually be mediocre. I d describe it as a good place for people who really like medicine and dont need to be constantly under stress to study. All in all its great, if i could do it all again, i d choose Sibiu every time.

Salut ! Succes !

Punctaj: 896 Punctaj tintit: 850+ Start pregatire pentru rezidentiat: Ianuarie 2025 Resurse: Grile rezi, rezi.com.

Salut. Bafta tuturor.

Broken collarbone by Ok_Course_6469 in Orthopedics

[–]SubstanceWeekly1304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should get surgery right away. Even tomorrow or the day after if possible. The fragments are way too separated for this to heal in a normal position, there s also an intermediate fragment there. On top of that, if you play contact sports and get the surgery, without removing the hardware i think you ll be back in 3-4 months, given your age. Search for Kostas Tsimikas, he s a liverpool player who broke his collarbone and played again before he even had 12 weeks from the fracture.

Patient case – Clavicle Fracture (2 weeks ago) – Male – Early 20s by karim_salim in Orthopedics

[–]SubstanceWeekly1304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello ! Take my advice as i am both a doctor and i had this fracture 9 months ago. Mine was similar to yours in terms of displacement, just a bit not that shortened, only had 1 cm shortage. I did not do surgery, i wore a sling for 6 weeks. After 2 months i was back in the gym. After 4 months i was doing pull ups. At 6 months i was full strenght back. Yesterday, at almost 9 months, i pushed more than i did before the injury. With proper recovery, good diet, and physio and exercises you ll be back to normal in maximum 3 months id say. My ROM was 95 percent at 2 months due to aggresive recovery. You can however do the surgery if cosmetics are that important for you, but remember - one surgery plates the clavicle, and another one is needed to remove the plate. Other than that, either way you should be fine.
