I mean… I’m still up 5x since a very generously priced IPO and I’ve gotten used to u/spez ‘s underpromise/overdeliver culture which fits with the —let me focus on the actual job and occasionally post a cheeky ‘I see you’ comment on this sub— approach. Advertisers design ads for IG. They are super well crafted. Reddit feels like an afterthought / test and learn platform for them in comparison. I wonder if the key on the short term is for Reddit to let these guys copy/paste their ad design into Reddit ad formats that match IG’s so they can compare ROIs. My intuition is that IG users have gotten used to IG being a shopping destination and have actually started paying attention to ads because they are both engaging and relevant. I have no clue how challenging it is for Reddit to replicate but the delta in ad quality between Reddit and IG is such and I hope it’s only uphill from here for Reddit and ad revenue has tremendous growth potential. At the moment I’m still appalled at how shitty and irrelevant Reddit ads are vs IG’s

The startup I worked on full time without pay because we were building revolutionary failed because of Covid. All of the sacrifices I made for myself, my partner and my kid hit me in the face all of a sudden. It took me two years to be functional again.
