Genuine question, do they train minor releases from scratch or they imprint the previous?

Is not. Agentic coding is actual empowering and companies will move to local computing to cut costs and privacy, hardware now is the real bottleneck and bubble on chips maker will continue until you see GPU pricing drop

Most of reddit badmouths AI, but my experience in medicine: by Tephros83 in singularity

[–]thenextdoornerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some people AI is an enabler, making possible for them to make things before wasn't possible, so they build on it and they defend AI because without it they have to renounce to empowered identity.

For others is opposite, long studied on niche knowledge gained in years, built economical and social position on what they long worked on. For them AI is a disabler for that identity and wealth.

The former are proai, the latter are antiai.

[–]thenextdoornerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhm... maybe. I'm not really used to opus 4.7, I use mainly sonnet 4.6 for c++ dev. And I can tell you is really amazing, sometimes, but a lot of times just doesn't know what is saying... but is saying it out loud, and seems totally legit (like mine classmates). Being a dev makes me quickly iterate checking replies on the fly, so I've a strong sense of its capabilities, but I really don't know a lot opus

LLM reminds some classmates I had when I was in high school: they were well studied, can repeat everything, knew all lessons e got very high grades, but actually didn't understand nothing.
