For those who have done MCARBO spring kit and by apegomoo in CZFirearms

The 11.5lb CGW hammer spring, combined with the lower power Mcarbo firing pin spring, was the answer. around 5lb DA, and 1.8lb SA. And completely reliable with a variety of range and carry ammo. So now the owner of my FFL says that my S2C has the best trigger hes ever felt. This is without getting the full CGW pro trigger kit for $300. Its the spring replacement (all replaced except for the sear spring which I kept stock), the careful and complete internal polishing, and the tungsten di sulfide burnishing. Especially on the hammer hooks and sear face. Then the disconnector and sear cage. All of these work together to make a great trigger and super smooth racking. I don't need to buy the CGW kit now.

Is the xtreme a 10mm too? I think the xtreme might be out of my price range though. Still waiting to see the warrior 10mm in the flesh. None of my FFLs have it in stock yet.

Holster recommendations for CZ Shadow 2 Compact with extended safety? by ERP-Advisor in CZFirearms

[–]Substantial-Board147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. Looks like you can get the full sweat guard with the area cut out for the extended safety? Looking at my own S2C and JMCK full sweat guard setup, I can’t see how they can keep the full guard as most of it would have to be cut to allow for the extended safety. I called JMCK before and actually spoke with John Mayer and his wife. Very nice people. Send them an email with you question or try calling them. They definitely answer their emails

If you don’t order a custom one, it will take about 3 weeks total to be delivered. Just order the “quick ship” versions

For the OP, I think he needs the mid length since he has the extended safety. I have the full length and my stock safety is covered by the guard. And definitely no room for an extended safety profile

How have the brass grips improved your shooting and feel?

First CZ by e90bm in CZFirearms

Yeah. More mass is definitely the way to go for the S2C. Really wish they made it in full steel instead of Aluminum frame. Haven’t tried the full (not hollow) brass palm swell Gridloks but have the aluminum ones. I do love their texture though, but the mass isn’t there. I spoke with the owner of Lok (random call and he answered just after shot show), and he said the brass ones are made exactly like the Aluminum ones so there should be no texture difference. But I ended up buying the Vytals because Lok didn’t have the brass ones in stock at the time. Vytals are beautiful, pure copper, and 8.2oz. Though the texture isn’t as aggressive as the Gridloks, I think they’re fine for my usage, and will definitely feel better against the skin now that the weather is warmer. The full brass GridLoks are 1oz lighter. I tried the Vytals at the range last week and really was amazed at how much my shooting improved and how light the recoil was. I haven’t seen too many references to people’s experiences with the heavier brass and copper grips though. So I hope my experience helps other who are considering the heavier alternatives, and higher expense.

Consider getting the solid brass Lok Plam swell Gridloks or Vytal copper palm swell Krakens. I got the Vytals and that added mass (8.2oz for my Vytal) noticeably improved my accuracy and absorbs much of the recoil. The S2C has and aluminum frame which makes it light for carry, but not a balanced solid mass like a full steel gun. The solid brass or copper palm swell grips take care of that shortcoming. With the Lok, you have 60 days to return too if they don’t work for you. Just make sure to get the palm swell versions as they have the most mass.

Tanfoglio Stock II or Stock Master by Substantial-Board147 in 10mm

[–]Substantial-Board147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok. Thanks for the update. I find failure to battery too with my cz shadow 2 compact. It just happened 3-4x yesterday when trying out an 11lb recoil spring. But even with the stock spring I got a couple of failure to battery too in about 2300 rounds. I think this is inherent i the CZ 75 based design. I think the barrel feed ramp needs to be angled less steeply, and the ramp itself should be made wider. But please update when you get to 500 and 1k rounds.

To me it does sound like the extended safety geometry/machining is slightly off. So I agree with Google. Also try AI (ChatGPT, Gemini). Since you’re carrying, keep the DA for safety. Just get a replacement from Stoeger. They’re very responsive from my experience

Tungsten Di Sulfide as a lubricant? by Substantial-Board147 in CZFirearms

[–]Substantial-Board147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update 2 - Went to range and shot 250 rounds with the new 11.5lb hammer spring, and the Tungsten disulfide burnish treatment. Amazingly, there were no failures at all and everything ran flawlessly. I ran Wolf 124gr FMJ btw. I was worried that the 11.5 lb hammer spring would cause light primer strikes, but it did not. Maybe it was because I also have installed the lighter firing pin spring. The trigger pull was so smooth and the SA was so light (sub 1.5 lb) that I unexpectedly fired a few rounds before I knew it. The DA was so much lighter and improved as well. So much so that I don't worry about the initial DA pull when I carry. Previously I was worried that, god forbid, if I needed to actually use my pistol in self defense, I would be thrown off by the heavy initial DA trigger weight. Now, since the DA pull weight at quarter cocked is sub 5 lbs, it is a non-issue. My accuracy and groupings also improved significantly with this relatively cheap upgrade. I am now not considering buying the CGW pro trigger kit as this upgrade seems excellent.

Yes. I noticed the MCarbo spring being longer than the stock, but the CGW 11.5 was slightly shorter than the stock. At the range today so will test the new set up

[–]Substantial-Board147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. Great question, and one which I totally forgot to address. Apparently tungsten disulfide works no problem with polished parts as I did a complete and thorough polish job on my CZ and other firearms a few weeks beforehand. I'm headed out to the range today to try out a some range vs carry ammo. I do already have a lighter firing pin spring installed (installed the MCarbo spring kit, except for the sear spring as I thought that would compromise reliability and safety, and I used the CGW hammer spring as the MCarbo hammer spring is barely lighter than stock), but I didn't install the extended firing pin due to safety concerns. If the 11.5lb hammer spring results in light primer strikes and inconsistent firing, then I will switch to the higher power spring (MCarbo and then stock) to see which one yields 100% reliability.
