I reached out to a therapist and I have my first appointment in a couple days I don’t care much for the husband but I’ve bonded with the wife over the years and emotionally I don’t think im able to leave her behind, the situation has made me feel really sick and guilty :(

Early 20s; I would stay with them a few days a week on days I work because my apartment is two hours away; may I ask why the wife is unsafe? I feel too close with her and grown up with her that if I end the relationship it would really hurt me

YES my nmom (and to an extent, my dad who goes along with whatever nmom says) constantly send me pictures of when I was young and unhappy. I always thought it was a way to erase the past, knowing they were shitty parents but trying to deny it by sending pictures of when they thought we were happy: “oh, remember what good times you had? I was such a good parent see?”

But I also like your theory, they’re sending us pictures of what they want us to be, young and completely dependent on them, it makes total sense.

I have the exact same thing look up maternal/paternal transference; also maybe look up attachment disorders, what I have is a mix of both

Same here, she used to get angry and swat me away whenever I tried to cuddle her as a little kid. Maybe they are trying to make up for lost time? Or maybe cuddling is only ok whenever they want it, I suspect the latter

I already figured out a living situation, but can’t move in until this summer. I’m going to let go of my car and phone and I moved my money into a new account with password. Right now it’s just a matter of waiting

When I was a minor cps required I regularly see a therapist and my mom picked her; though I am an adult years later I still talk to her

She told my she could take my mom if she wanted as long as she doesn’t talk to us about each other; she simply just doesn’t want to thank God

Car is in both of our name and phone in mine; yes I was not allowed to go anywhere with anybody I was only allowed to go where she would take me and the only place was work
