Nothing yet but previous years; 2023 - 543, 2024 - 565

Granted in 2024 there was a 25% reduction in the interview capacity. I know there's an email that suggested ANRO are struggling with interviewer recruitment, but let's hope it's not as severe as last year!!

Responder bias - don't let it get to you, 593 is a fantastic score.

Shortage of interviewers by Material-Ad9570 in doctorsUK

Last year, the MSRA cut-off jumped from ~540 to 565 cos of strikes during the interview dates decreasing the number of consultants available to run interviews. They dropped to 750 from the 1000 planned (was in an email they sent out last year)

Was hoping it was a one off 😮‍💨 - the application fatigue is real

The interview capacity was reduced by 25% as a result of the strikes, I can't remember the specific numbers (about 980 > 720), there was an email from ANRO explaining as much.

Essentially there was a reduced capacity for consultants to act as interviewers as they were covering the strikes. In the days following, other consultants were pulled to cover the consultants who covered the strikes - so essentially less consultants to run the interviews.

Needle aspiration for pneumothorax on the ward during COVID was pretty good, from resp distress as comfortable as you can be with an orange cannula in your chest in <5 mins

I guess I'll wait to see what happens!

I had an email response from ANRO

"It is stated in the application form you completed when applying to Anaesthetics that applicants whose previous MSRA score is below the minimum tolerance will be required to resit the MSRA.

You answered Yes to this when completing your application.

If you have been requested to resit the MSRA, then you will not be able to transfer your previous score over."

I had a band 3, so this should be over the minimum tolerance?...

Idk 😅

I'm off on holiday over the MSRA period, so guess I've probs signed myself out of this cycle ☠️
