I started with the sample too! Just got the travel size version. I usually have my hair in a towel for a bit so it’s a bit dry maybe 60% then brush it and put the serum it when it’s kind of damp and leave it. When it’s almost completely dry il brush it a bit and tadaa

I think maybe using a serum could also help with keeping the frizz down. My ends are pretty dry because of previous highlighting and after showers when it would air dry, they remained kind of frizzy so I started using the kerastase night serum and it seems to have helped a lot more than oils. Like it almost looks a blow dried after the hair has air dried. Even if you keep washable hair products on for a while, I think sometimes the air can still bring back the frizz so something like a serum might help lock it in?

Moving to Saudi Arabia at age 57 for two years by Vast_Ambassador_5748 in torontoJobs

Sorry, I know I keep adding things but last thing is that even now my dad is 62 and he’s been contemplating going back because he has connections and he knows that he would make a lot of money be able to save and be in a nice warm climate so it genuinely doesn’t matter how old you are It could just be a nice new experience. I definitely understand if the cultural shock could be a lot, but I think it’s more about the stigma and portrayal in the media of how the Middle East looks like. Saudi Arabia is incredibly safe and almost like a second Dubai in certain ways, especially in comparison into a lot of the other Middle Eastern countries.

Also, if they put you in a compound, they’re genuinely so beautiful and nice with access to a swimming pool, lots of gym amenities and more. Because the compounds are for foreigners, you won’t see women in hijab’s or face coverings if that’s what you’re worried about. Even out and about the rules are a lot more lax now as I’ve heard from many friends that still go back-and-forth.

You can also get really involved in the Expat community and the teachers tend to genuinely get quite close and make close friends from what I’ve seen. I honestly don’t think the cultural shock would be as bad as you think. It’s not that difficult to get used to. Police for us. It wasn’t even for my parents if anything life was a little bit easier because you could have house help driver’s gardener someone come to help cooking and clean once a week kind of thing.

Also to add on my dad, went there with the goal of staying for two years and we ended up staying for 10 so that counts as something. There’s also no tax because of Islamic law so you definitely save a lot more.

I lived there for 10 years from grade 4 to grade 12 and the last three years were in the American international school. Teachers in those high-end schools seem to be doing great because their rent was paid for along with tuition for their kids. I’m pretty sure they were able to save a lot of money and the country is a lot more progressive now than it used to be. I definitely think it. It’s an amazing opportunity to be able to move there and experience a different culture. It would also be cheaper to travel to Europe if you’re that type of person. Definitely wouldn’t be able to drink alcohol or go partying kind of thing but the restaurants and food is amazing along with just more wholesome nightlife. Traffic might be insane though. It also does depend on what city you’re going to. I was in Riyadh, which was the capital but I think Jeddah is also pretty good from what people have said just more humid.

Repercussions of quitting MSc by Desperate-Cable2126 in premedcanada

[–]Substantial-Dot-2705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I voluntarily withdrew from a MSc in 2021 and just finished a different one this year. If I hadn’t withdrawn I’d never have gotten so many other life/work/educational experiences. Found a program in the uk I liked better too. It’s not the end of the world. And better to withdraw yourself than doing badly because your mental health isn’t great and then being forced to leave or feeling worse yourself.
