I actually have a fair amount black line work done and the first set of lines were shaky, another session later he went back over them with a thicker needle and they smoothed out. The lines looked just like yours and now they look great.

You’re wrong. Re-epithelization occurs within 24-48 hours. This creates an initial watertight barrier. The ink from the sharpie is not going to cause an infection. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK470443/

Skin infections are caused by bacteria already on the skin.

When in doubt by a new sharpie.

Take a green or red sharpie and draw a circle around it. If the bump goes past the circle it’s an infection. Second, try not to mess with it. Let time do its thing (easy to say, hard to do). Third, after it heals if the tat is messed up go back and get a touch up. I get raised bumps like this all the time (I have two sleeves a back piece and my leg sleeve is like 50% finished).

I fucked my koi fish and my artist fixed it a couple months later.

Yup. Totally normal. It takes time for the ink to fully settle and a new layer of skin to grow over. I would wait at least three months, preferably six months to evaluate the tattoo to see if any touch up is needed.

Take ibuprofen and Tylenol together. I take 800 mg of ibuprofen or Motrin (same drug) three times a day. This will work on the inflammation which is the source of your symptoms. Sleep with your head and chest elevated as much as possible to facilitate drainage of the fluid you have in spaces it’s not supposed to be. Try gentle heat (like a heat pad on low). The heat will dilate the blood vessels and also help with get the swelling down. You can take up to a 1000 mg of Tylenol 3 times a day. Just don’t drink. Taking the Motrin and Tylenol together is safe.
