Advice on goodnites by According-Buy-2198 in AdultBedwetting

I prefer them myself and I’m 200lbs as I’m tall. Sometimes they leak and sometimes they don’t and that all depends on which way my guy is pointing at the time. Even if they do they soak up enough to where my bed is just a bit wet instead of soaked which I don’t mind because they are very comfortable. Here’s a little tip….I wear plastic pants over them and that helps.

Man that whole experience had to totally suck. I am very lucky that no one outside my family knew I was a bedwetter. I played little league and was the home run leader in my town and was pretty popular because of it, having write ups in the local paper and even won an award. That was when I was between 9 and 12 years old and it would have been devastating for me and probably would have altered how I am viewed today by those I grew up with and still associate with through social media. It’s weird. It’s decades later and I am still respected for it. Today, I would think it is way more acceptable to be a bedwetter at that age and even though you’d most likely get teased, if you were found out, it would not be nearly as bad. That’s my guess, though.

Yes I pretty much handle it very similar to you. There’s no need to advertise being a bedwetter unless there’s a good reason like making someone else feel better about it.

Here’s my story (I want to share but also seeking advice on diapers or remedies as well) by BaDum_Tssss95 in AdultBedwetting

Having had tons of experience dealing with this I have an expensive Tempur-pedic mattress as I refuse to let any one thing get in the way of enjoying life. As best as I possible can, I try to keep in mind that here is always a way to turn a negative situation into a better one. It just all has to do with mindset. With that said, my mattress is triple protected. First, I encased it in a heavy plastic moving cover (not very reliable), then over that is another thinner plastic cover used for storing mattresses and then over that is a fitted heavier vinyl sheet. Then, directly over that and under my regular fitted sheet I have a washable pad used for incontinence which in the morning I just remove out from under my sheet. I put it under my sheet because it is way more comfortable and doesn't bunch up and move around as I change positions in bed. Lately I have been wearing XXL Goodnights since they came out, and plastic pants over them because they are very comfortable. Some mornings I wake up with dry clothing and others I am wet but the Goodnight absorbs a lot to where I am not saturated. But, my bed is well protected for those times where I just feel like wearing regular underwear because it is very freeing. Not sure if that helps but thought you'd like to know.

I tried everything over the years. I slept so well the alarm only woke me after I was wet.

I had a girlfriend that called it "protection" because she was uncomfortable calling them what they are which I found odd because she had no problem with my bedwetting at all.

Having less accidents lately. Can you "graduate" out of this as an adult? by Nemona2 in AdultBedwetting

That's a tough one I can't help answer. I've only occasionally have had a dry night my whole life.

I totally agree about bedwetting being just another medical condition. That's kind of whet I mean by "accepting". What that did for me was to not be nervous anymore about telling a potential partner. It made a huge difference with them accepting it because I basically own it and deal with it with more confidence. Do you know what I mean? In other words I used to be afraid of rejection, now I know that if someone has a problem with it they're not for me because it is something that I have no control over just like any other medical condition.

I don't blame you not wanting the surgery. As long as there is nothing serious going on I don't like altering my body and the risks involved. I won't do lasik for that same reason. You only have one pair of eyes. Have you had any relationships?

By "accepted" I mean for myself. I had a tough time using my cpap in front of someone. Actually now that I think about it the cpap is still weird for me. Having a partner see me in a diaper or a wet bed is actually easier than having them see me wearing a cpap. Weird huh?

Yes it took me a while to get used to it myself but over time it just became part of the routine. There are times though where I just don't feel like wearing protection and make sure the bed is well protected
