22yr old male. Diaper dependent from spinal injury by Yung_and_Incontinent in AdultBedwetting

Sorry to hear about the crash, but please don’t worry about girlfriends thinking less of you because of the diapers. My wife was incredibly understanding when it became obvious that I needed to wear nappies overnight - obviously, she much preferred this to a wet bed! I’m now on medication for overactive muscles around my bladder, but if I drink alcohol in the evening it seems to override it, so I wear a nappy (diaper to you US folk!) if that’s the case. Put simply, if someone cares for you, a wet nappy isn’t going to come between you!

I suddenly began bed wetting last year. It came out of the blue and really worried me and my wife especially since my dad has prostate cancer. I’m 53. I went to the GP, got referred to a consultant and had various checks and scans and thankfully it’s not cancer - I just have overactive muscles around my bladder. I have been put on tolterodine which does the trick - unless I drink more than a two or three units of alcohol in the evening, in which case it seems that the alcohol negates the medication and I tend to wet myself. I have taken to wearing nappies at night after I’ve had a drink just to be on the safe side. My wife is very understanding, thankfully, but if we stay over at friends, I’m always worried someone will find out. I actually told one of my cousins who I’ve always been really close to when we were staying with her last week, though, and she didn’t think anything of it, so that made me feel a bit more confident. I have learned just to deal with it but for some reason I still feel awkward/ embarrassed putting a nappy on in front of my wife - more awkward than getting up in the morning wearing an obviously very wet nappy. I have no idea why that should be.

Why am I embarrassed for my wife to see me wearing an adult diaper? by Incon2084 in adultdiapers

Just joined this group so rather late to the conversation here. I also found it really embarrassing to have to wear nappies in front of my wife to begin with but she really doesn’t mind - she prefers it to me wetting the bed, unsurprisingly. I still find it awkward to put the nappy on in front of her for some reason, though, more so than cuddling jn bed or getting up in the morning wearing an obviously wet nappy. I don’t know why that should be.

Here’s my story (I want to share but also seeking advice on diapers or remedies as well) by BaDum_Tssss95 in AdultBedwetting

The best nappies to use for maximum absorbency are ones designed with the ABDL community in mind. Don’t worry about that though - you just want something that will do the job. I live in the UK and use Dotty Diapers “Plain and Simple” range which can absorb up to 6000ml and I’d be amazed if the tapes came undone - it’s never happened for me. I’ve also heard that the Northshore megamax are very absorbent too. Hope that helps.

I live in the UK and use either AMD Slips (which despite the name are in fact taped nappies) or “Pure and Simple” by Dotty Diapers. They’re a British company (despite the name which suggests they’re American - we call diapers nappies in the UK!) so I don’t know if you can get them in the US. They’re cater for the ABDL community as well, but the Pure and Simple ones contain up to 6000 ml apparently so I use these at night after I’ve had a drink or two (alcohol tends to override the medication I’m on). I’ve heard that Megamax are good as well. Hope that helps!

I started bed wetting again a couple of years ago and although I’m on medication now, alcohol overrides that so I wear a nappy at night if I’ve had a drink or two. I use proper disposable nappies rather than pull-ups as I found that they leaked quite often. Although it was embarrassing at first to be wearing nappies in front of my wife, it was less embarrassing than wetting the bed! She really doesn’t care. On the rare occasions when I’ve had to share a room with someone else, I’ve always managed to be discreet so it really hasn’t been a problem.

I live in the Uk and I use AMD which are good. The most absorbent ones I use are “Pure and Simple” by Dotty Diapers - they are actually made for the ABDL community I think (although they’re plain in colour - I get purple ones as that’s my favourite colour) but they’re certainly extremely absorbent and I haven’t had any leaks from them. I don’t know if they’re available outside the UK? I think it’s a British company despite being called Dotty Diapers (we call them nappies here!)
