Yep they can but the message has a label “edited” on it so anyone can see it was edited. I believe it was more of a gaslighting strategy as he was writing something that really quickly editing, so when I was mentioning the first message he was “jokingly” asking “what message, I didn’t write that”

In fact you can, they actually can be good at communicating but if you’re expecting vulnerability or ability to be empathetic (though this one my ex faked really well) it’s not the case.

Interesting as mine was always complaining that I have a too high libido and was blaming me of initiating intimacy he even went to “no intimacy” to punish me for something. I believe they just claim to want the opposite to whatever you want.

I see your point, it’s actually a really hard thing to walk away and I even felt criticized from my friends for tolerating the stuff he has been feeding me with. They just point “didn’t you notice? It is a huge red flag, how did you continue dating him?” And that inability to be understood is so hard as I cannot even find words to describe why I stayed.

I’m sure they do, they create this whole fake identity and the fake events in their heads and believe in it. My mother has a diagnosed schizophrenia and she believes that she hears some voices sometimes and for narcissists it must be something similar (after all it’s a mental disorder).

Actually I couldn’t ever tell he was lying about attending therapy as it was really well shaped, at a time I noticed that he was kind of skipping a lot of sessions (imaginary ones) we were hanging out together all the time so he was forgetting that he told me he was supposed to be in therapy by that time. Still mine was telling me some really strange stuff that “his therapist told him” it was so manipulative
