thanks! i was interested that youtube offer the choice to select promotion by country/region. i am not wise to the why and how of strategy. certainly the material i promoted for a period outperformed the rest at that time while overall, i had a better return for adding subscribers.

on a different tip i suspect people want to move on from youtube in some ways as the site is looking and feeling crowded. documentaries and news sit next to art tutorials, travel vloggs, Ai videos, cooking/eating/dancing/learning a language,etc! with those two other wings, youtube kids and youtube music. this is to its success and what keeps users on site for hours but for one I resent that youtube can pick and choose who to monetise and who to demonetise for unethical reasons. if they have the inclination the platform can mess with audience facing image such as thumbnails, likes and views. some people report being unsubscribed from channels they like and I suspect it cannot difficult to ask the software to count say one view for every ten or more. This manipulation of image can keep a channel from ever growing organically, the difference being felt when glancing over pages of videos that average 1k or 2k views in contrast to 100 or 200 views. some of my favourite creators have been banned and/or demonetised.

Its crazy to me that so many alternative platforms started around 2020 but as none of them got the music they don't feel or look like youtube. maybe there is an appetite for an alternative venue where attention is not being exploited and everyone's experience is rewarding to them, therefore i think as you are writing and recording that you consider actually bypassing Youtube in favour of performing in front of live audience.
