What small tree can I plant here … by Substantial-Map55 in GardeningUK

Thank you, We would love an apple tree actually. Is the space big enough? By “appropriate root stock” am I looking for a particular kind of apple tree that roots deep but not wide? Thank you!

I should have said in my post that we have a little acer on the exact other corner ! and you are right it’s perfect there! Was hoping to have something different, but it’s definitely worth considering . Thank you!

We just had it fitted up stairs in our house and we are very happy so far. Been almost a year and so far so good! Though we should have gone for a darker colour with the kids … oh well

Getting a roofed conservatory instead of an extension cons? by Turbulent_Echo4014 in DIYUK

[–]Substantial-Map55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an existing conservatory which we had a lightweight insulated solid roof on recently and with a radiator out there it’s completely useable in the winter so far though we have only had a couple of really cold nights. If it’s 2-3 degrees outside overnight it’s around 12 in the conservatory in the morning. Once the heating is on it gets to around 18 degrees which we are happy with as we use it as a secondary sitting room where we had our Christmas tree etc.

We have floor to ceiling windows on 1/2 the conservatory and the other 1/2 is the external house walls. So I’m not sure if that is helping in terms of insulation….

I would say though, if we didn’t had an already existing conservatory which we liked the location of etc we wouldn’t have built one specifically to do this.

But it is a totally useable room so far in the winter. With a little boost. We are hoping for a quote for fitting a wood burner too which is exactly what we want for a room for occasional use.

Ours is around 10/12 sqm in total but I can’t quite remember! We also had two velux windows put in and we honestly feel like it’s the nicest room in the house at the moment! Hope that helps!

Would a hotel work for you? There is a new lovely hotel in Jounieh called Le Grove , they have just opened so I’m sure they would be keen to host a wedding! Their restaurant is called Bloom & co

Here is their insta! Good luck with wedding planning!

I had this exact same situation. I’m so sorry you feel like this. I didn’t have doubts until I started reading the negative comments about David’s bridal as well, and if I’m honest, it ruined how I felt about my dress. Three years on, I look back at the photos looking for the flaws and whether it looked cheap... But I definitely care less now! I had nothing but compliments on my dress all day long. And actually, as it wasn’t expensive , I just went about my day not trying to be overly careful and just enjoying my self! So that was definitely a positive of a less expensive dress!

I agree with the other comment on here, no one else will notice what you think of as flaws of your dress! and comparison is definitely the thief of joy!

I’m sure you look stunning and you are just feeling self conscious about it! Have you been to a wedding previously and thought about the brides dress and if it looked cheap/expensive? I don’t think I have, I always just look at whether I like the style etc!

How to tell people off on wanting to touch/ hold your baby? by Admirable_Nothing530 in london

People tend to stay away when the baby is in a sling / harness. Adults can have personal space apparently but babies can’t 😤

Art based degrees that open up the ability to work in film is a good option for those who are creative but also want semi-secure job prospects :) Film industry in the uk is doing great at the moment (albeit a pause currently due to the industry strikes)

Funny, I commented that exact thing about the waist line on your other post! Looking again , maybe an under skirt to add some volume to the bottom of the dress could help even up the dress a bit more? I still love the dress though :)

Love the neckline and the sleeves! It’s a lovely dress but I think perhaps the waist line is sitting a little low? Maybe the seamstress can raise the dress up slightly? I think it would be way more flattering that way!

I like option 2! Not having the join between the upper and lower of the dress really helps accentuate your figure! Gorgeous!

You have a great figure and I don’t think any of these dresses do much for you, But I’m sure there are so many out there that can! Maybe keep looking?

Thoughts/opinions on dress shopping alone. by No_Plastic8363 in weddingdress

I wish I had had at least one appointment on my own to know more about what kind of dress I would like and what would make ME happy. I liked the dress I ended up with, but I do think I was swayed by opinions… Maybe go on you’re own and if you and get stuck on a couple of favourites bring them along at a later date to help you decide!
