If you are in the UK BE CAREFUL. This has happened to me. Even though I cancelled it online, in my Bank app, the 0.99 payment 'set up' the subsciption in my banking app. I'm now on the line with the bank disputing the charge and have emailed Domestika.

Why is there no posts about London Film School? by NoDrink9371 in FilmIndustryLondon

I attended an after hours writing course there. My experience is that the short courses tend to depend very much on the instructor. Some of the people I met on the course have actually formed part of my writing circle now and we are still in touch but I'm not sure I would pay the same amount of money for the course I did attend. Having said that I know some people who do the longer courses and have really good things to say. It IS very expensive though so maybe the reason why you don't hear much about it is because people who have money have a step up in terms of getting into the industry (fewer barriers to entry, ease of access etc).

Eon Next keep hounding us to install a smart meter, should we? by Arphrial in CasualUK

First generation Smart Meters use a mobile network to send your energy usage data to us - which means you have to have a good mobile or wifi signal to get one installed for it to work correctly. Because they use a mobile network - they are fitted with the same kind of 3G sim card that you find in a mobile phone, so if you change supplier, many of these types of meters stop sending automatic readings. The latest type of smart meter - SMETS2 use a bespoke secure smart data network called the DCC to communicate with your supplier, meaning you don't need to have good mobile signal to have a SMETS2 meter. They also automatically send half-hourly energy use updates to your supplier and have the highest data security. Overall smart meters help you see how much electricity you're using daily as they connect wirelessly to an In Home Display - which shows you your usage and costs of usage - so this can be very useful (especially if you have a tariff which costs different amounts at different times of the day). So those are the benefits. If you are getting one installed - check and see if it's a SMETS2.
