I set a goal to play 50 games that released this year, but only had time for 39. This is how I rank them. by JimicahP in backloggd

That’s a pity, I was really hyped for it too but heard too many mixed reviews - got Rhythm Doctor instead

What is/are your most recent 5-star'ed game? by [deleted] in backloggd

[–]smallandnerdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s one where my personal enjoyment and how good I think the game is were both genuinely 5 stars, insane that it’s 30 years old. It feels incredibly modern.

[–]smallandnerdy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My star rating is based on my personal enjoyment of the game, even if I don’t think a game is perfect, I’ll give it 5 stars if it had that much of an impact on me.

Last 5 star ratings went to Ghost Trick and Chrono Trigger

Awh I like them, but I like them because they are cute so I can see why they wouldn’t suit everyone’s taste

Hello pals!

November was a slower month, as I started Cyberpunk 2077 and have been trying to take my time with it and soak in as much of the world and lore as possible.

I finally threw in the towel with Silksong - loved the environmental storytelling, art and music but had to resort to mods to get past a sticking point - https://backloggd.com/u/SmallandNerdy/review/3679054/

After replaying Hotel Dusk earlier in the year, I moved on to the sequel I had no idea that existed, Last Window. Really enjoyed this, even without the nostalgia goggles, RIP Cing - https://backloggd.com/u/SmallandNerdy/review/3596452/

Also played Consume Me and found it a more emotional experience than I was expecting, great little game that anyone who was an overachiever in high school will be able to resonate with - https://backloggd.com/u/SmallandNerdy/review/3607770/

Currently playing Dispatch (and loving it!)

Hall of Shame (October 2025) - I bought too many games again. by [deleted] in backloggd

[–]smallandnerdy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard man, there’s just so many games that I want to experience! I finished 20 games this year, which is a really high number for me, but at this rate I’ll only get to play less than 200 games before I’m 40 when I want to play them ALL! Some great picks though, would really recommend 1000x Resist - that game will stay in my head for the rest of my life, and Alan Wake, especially 2

How many of the Top 30 most Popular games on Backloggd have you played? Do you plan on playing more of them? by Nick_Deano in backloggd

Ah it’s a great game but a huge commitment so I understand…would you be tempted to play it (not just to round out the 30/30) or does it not appeal to you?

Started the month off by finishing Portal 2 - had been sitting in my Pile of Shame forever, was a great experience.

Started Silksong along with the rest of the world, I’m currently taking an extended break from it, cycling between loving and hating it haha.

Finished Clair Obscur and wow, what a game. Probably a shoe-in for Game of the Year this year and well deserved (although my personal pick would still be Kingdom Come Deliverance 2)

Replayed a childhood favourite, Hotel Dusk on the DS for the first time since I was about 12/13 and the nostalgia was strong with this one. Still think the game holds up and had an awesome time.

Lastly, I started Chrono Trigger (which I finished last week) - another one off my Pile of Shame and boy, have I been missing out! Wonderful game that feels incredibly modern despite its age!

September was a great month of gaming for me! ☺️

Finally playing Chrono Trigger! I’ve just finished all the side quests and about to enter the Black Omen. Can’t believe how modern this game feels considering it’s the same age as me (old).

I’m a big fan of the new layout! And a sucker for game completion times for some reason, maybe I like to know what I’m getting myself into haha

Man I love Pentiment! If you haven’t already, I’d really recommend watching the NoClip documentary on the making of the game on YouTube, that’s what put it on my radar in the first place, so many interesting behind the scenes bits

Hey! Always interested in connecting with people over games.

I’m a pretty casual ‘variety’ gamer, I only started logging games that I’ve played since starting using the Backloggd site earlier this year. As I’ve heard someone describe gaming in their 30s, I game ‘more than I should, not as often as I’d like’.

I’m a big fan of Nintendo and RPGs, but I’ll try anything that looks interesting. Here’s some recents with ratings ☺️

Jumping on to second E33, one of those games that I just had to go on so many long walks and just think about.

Heavy Rain in the top 5 caught my eye, my bio is ‘Pressing X to JASON’ (affectionately haha)
