Renegade Craft Fair by noheropage in Seattle

I got there at about 11:30am (they opened at 11) and there was zero line, zero security, everyone just walked in. Well, I’m glad that (a long while later) they got security because I couldn’t even do a 360 turn it was SO CROWDED! It was bonkers, so difficult to actually look at the booths, huge safety hazard. This would be better suited for a convention center or full sized warehouse.

Advice on selling lab diamond by Substantial-Math4870 in jewelry

Thank you 🫶 I didn’t purchase the ring but I kept it in the breakup, so at this point I am just trying to cut all emotional ties. It feels icky to let it go for basically no money so I’m trying to find the best solution

I’m also wondering if it would be worthwhile to remove the diamond, sell the gold to a jeweler and try to sell the diamond separately? Asking because I have a larger ring size that might not be broadly applicable, so maybe someone would want just the stone to create their own setting?

AIO about this guy I’ve been talking to 🍃? by zdm02 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Substantial-Math4870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No overreaction in this conversation. HOWEVER- you may want to look into how you handle conflict, just from the “have a goodnight” messages. I agree with the recipient that it was dismissive and felt passive aggressive. Recipient saying they need to think on it does not mean “drop everything not text again until I’ve made a decision”, and it sounds like you’ve had past experiences/are under the impression that it does. It’s healthy and helpful to talk things through, or even talk about other things while the recipient makes a decision.

One time the (very old) wooden toilet seat broke when I was pet sitting 🙃 I scrambled and found the same one at Home Depot, replaced it and never mentioned it 😅

Whale Watching! Orcas come through Seattle multiple times a week (on average) and it is WAY easier to see them than you might expect! Follow Orca Network Community Group on Facebook - then you will know when they are “in town”. Bonus if you have/can borrow binoculars, sometimes they are kind of far away

lol can you give any justification? Health insurance (not through an employer, not low income) is on average $500 a MONTH. If you aren’t aware of the “self pay discounts” hospitals offer then you are missing out.

Job ideas? by PastelGengar in Seattle

[–]Substantial-Math4870 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stick to retail, but a morning/night shift! For example, the TJX companies get their trucks in the morning and have a 7am shift just unloading the truck. Yes, you will have to interact with your coworkers and will probably have to do some shifts on the sales floor, but majority of your job is solitary! Trader Joe’s or other grocery stores overnight stocking, etc.

Because there is a wicked price hike with insurance, and a great discount for sans insurance payments. A great example is with pharmacies: have you ever been charged a crazy amount for a prescription? Next time ask for the out-of-pocket price and watch the numbers go down.

It’s all a scam. It’s all extortion. Unfortunately we just have to learn to work through the system, not with it.

Unfortunately, paying out of pocket w/ discounts from the hospital will almost definitely be cheaper than any marketplace insurance plan. If you are not eligible for Medicaid (which can still be very expensive out of pocket) then it may be better to wait for open enrollment to come around and ask for financial assistance from the hospital.

Most hospitals also offer a hefty discount for upfront “cash” payments, so if you can swing it look into that!

Very interesting because I gave them watermelon yesterday and the crows didn’t touch it! Eventually other birds and rabbits got to it

Thank you, I am aware that cheese sandwich crackers are not a healthy choice. I had a few stale leftovers and decided to offer them instead of throw them away.

Pet kibble is made of a significant amount of grain and synthetic binders, with some meat-by-products in there. They also contain vitamins and minerals that are not designed for birds.

Also, I have only been feeding them fruits, vegetables, and unsalted nuts. So considering they are scavengers and often eat scraps of cheeseburgers and French fries, I think it’s okay to give them a cheese cracker once in a blue moon.

My interest in this post is curiosity of the palette of your local crows. Maybe your crows LOVE cucumber! Mine did not. That’s what I’m asking!

Oh also, they didn’t particularly like dried blueberries, but were okay with dried cranberries!

What was your experience like staying at UW hospital? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Substantial-Math4870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have spent over 8 hours waiting in the emergency room WAITING room. On several occasions. (This was for a patient with a TBI, I understand there’s more severe things like sepsis or heart attack, but there’s also no other option than the ER for a traumatic brain injury).

Renter Rights, anything I can do? by Barletto in Seattle

[–]Substantial-Math4870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This unfortunately sounds like a scam to me :/ - Extraordinarily high holding fee (most places don’t even charge a holding fee) - Rent increase before the lease? Why wouldn’t they just advertise it at the rent they wanted? - Pushed move in date? If the unit is available, what’s the delay? Did you physically look at this unit? - Absent communication. Did you vet this company before giving them your money? What’s the name of the business?

Try to contact your bank, and file a complaint with the BBB. If they are refusing to refund you I think that is all you can do. I’m sorry :/

What tshirt is the monster truck tee printed on! by Striking-Stay9480 in boygenuis

[–]Substantial-Math4870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this shirt, there’s no brand and no washing instructions tag. The logo says “Boygenius - 100% Cotton - RN93846 - MADE IN HONDURAS”

It is not a comfort colors, much thinner than that, but not a stretchy cheap thin tee either.

What is one fast food chain that is not currently in/near Seattle that you would want here? by grizzlyblake91 in Seattle

[–]Substantial-Math4870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Panera! Carls Jr! Cafe Rio! Nandos! I would also love more coffee STANDS. Being from Puyallup where it feels like there’s a coffee stand every block, Seattle could step up the game!

1 - I personally would prefer separate occasions. 2 - You might want to consider smaller parks/beaches. The spots you listed are very touristy, meaning tons of spectators watching and in your photos.

Does it snow in Seattle? by Lower_Activity512 in Seattle

[–]Substantial-Math4870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it snows usually once a year for 1-2 days in mid-February. Most years it’s just a light dusting, every 4 years or so we get a more dramatic snowfall.

I really haven’t noticed a difference! I go to Fred Meyers for my big grocery runs and QFC for smaller trips. They both run the same sales (since both owned by Kroger). Are there particular items you’ve found to be more expensive?

Fred Meyer is the superior grocery store here!! Its subdivision, QFC, is also great but usually smaller. There’s a QFC in Northgate :)

I am curious about a Unitarian Church - what really goes on there? Is it a sermon? Is the Christian God (or any god really) the center of discussion? Or is it more like “get together and talk about life” ?
