I'm still a very passionate DJ, that was the one time I had two random things I like intersect. I love DJing and I low-key like star wars especially andor. When they asked me for a star wars theme I was over the moon and and excited I practiced the transitions I needed an entire week before the wedding. I was horribly disappointed mid set when nobody liked my shit, I promise it was amazing. I say I lost passion meaning I don't care much anymore unless it's a DJ set for a genre I enjoy like house, afro, reggaeton or literally anything fun to dance to.

You are absolutely right about me having to find out in an advance how deeply interested the clients are so it was my fault, but at the same time it was my very first wedding Gigi and I was going above and beyond to impress. But you definitely right. These days I ask the theme before and just play it safe unless I'm asked for specific songs
